Vipal Begins Production of Motorcycle Tyres
Dominating the whole life cycle of a tyre, from production until the disposal of the waste tyre; Vipal, with nearly 40 years of know-how in the tyre retreading sector, is well capable of the challenge of developing motorcycle tyres.
Recognized as the leader in South America and one of the most important manufacturers of products for retreading and repairing tyres and inner tubes, Vipal is now producing tyres for motorcycles. Initially, the product range includes eight models, and this will be increased to 22 by the end of 2012 to meet the main types of motorcycle sizes.
This is the initial step of Vipal’s plans
to manufacture all types of tyres, ultimately aiming to gain a significant presence in the new tyre market.
The motorcycle tyres are being produced in the Vipal factory in Feira de Santana, in the Bahia state of Brazil. The company also plans to produce car and agricultural tyres in a new factory which will be constructed in Rio Grande do Sul state.
Because of a natural progression of this segment, Vipal is answering the demand for tyres that provide strength, durability and safety in a market that has seen steady growth in the motorcycle fleet in all regions. Production started in November 2011. Marketing began in January this year when the first batch was delivered to distributors to serve the replacement market. Co-operation between Vipal and Fate allowed the exchange of information for product development.

 Tipler – R&D
for Off Road
Per formance
Built to withstand the extremes of the environment, the Extra line from Tipler seeks to serve the markets of sugar cane cropping and mining.
To respond to the sectors working in extreme terrain with uneven ground, holes and obstacles, Tipler has invested years in research and field tests to create its Extra line, consisting of specific treads; a result of the optimization of rubber compound and the company's commitment to deliver specific solutions and high performance for the various transport sectors.
Markets such as sugar cane and mining, which face severities and where transport represents a high cost for companies, are the focus for Tipler. The company worked to create a series of pre- shaped treads that offer greater resistance to abrasion and damage to the rubber, more efficient expulsion of foreign bodies from the tyre, more protection for the casing and better transfer of power, generating lower costs per mile and profitability for the fleets.
"Bad roads are a challenge for the transport sector and if they are not using the proper equipment that creates losses for the fleets. Since tyres are one of the major costs for fleets we focus on creating solutions that generate profit," said Carlos César Oliveira, National Sales Manager of Tipler.
The main tread of this agricultural line are the RT85 and RT91, both pattern and depth of groove being optimised for off-road use.
The Tipler Extra Line adds to two other lines created by the company. The range is claimed to offer unbeatable mileage performance, combining a unique composite high- performance optimisation of tread depth and curing process. The company’s complementary Ecomais range reaches up to 12 per cent better fuel economy, generating superior results in the operating profitability of fleets.
