KRAIBURG AUSTRIA ADVANCES SUSTAINABILITY AND STRATEGIC INVESTMENTS
KRAIBURG Austria is consciously continuing its future-orien- ted path. “As sustainability and CO2 reduction efforts are gra- dually being stepped up, we believe retreading will become even more important in the future,” commented Stefan Mayr- hofer, Managing Director of KRAIBURG Austria. “We are pre- paring for this with targeted measures.”
KRAIBURG Austria remains committed to its forward-looking strategy, emphasising the growing significance of retreading in light of enhanced sustainability and CO2 reduction efforts. Despite facing a nearly 7% decrease in turnover to 85 million euros in the past year, attributed to Europe’s economic down- turn and challenges in the supply chain. With a sound strate- gy, Mayrhofer views the issues as surmountable, highlighting obstacles such as increased imports of non-retreadable tyres from Asia and high inventory levels, inflation and potential supply chain disruptions, particularly concerning the Suez Ca- nal, as challenges for 2024, but remains confident in the com- pany’s ability to navigate these with strategic planning and investments.
Planned investments of ten million euros over the next 18 months aim to future-proof the business, focusing on product innovation, production automation, sustainability, and energy optimisation. Initiatives include developing a new photovol- taic system and installing a heat pump system to reduce gas usage by 20-25%, aligning with the Science Based Targets initiative to eliminate CO2 emissions. KRAIBURG Austria’s commitment to customer satisfaction and economic success for all stakeholders underpins its efforts to lead in sustainable retreading.
KRAIBURG AUSTRIA IS ONCE AGAIN A KUNUNU TOP COMPANY
Kraiburg Austria, the tread rubber manufacturer based in Geretsberg, Upper Austria, has been awarded the «Kununu Top Company» seal for 2024 after achieving the award in 2023. The seal recognises companies with high employee satisfaction and is awarded exclusively based on independent reviews on the Kununu platform. Kununu means «blank slate» in Swahili and, according to the operators, «stands for all companies that have not yet been rated». The platform, founded in Vienna, has been online since 2007 and currently employs around 130 people in Vienna, Porto, Berlin, and Hamburg.
«The numerous positive reviews from our colleagues have ensured that KRAIBURG Austria is once again one of Austria’s five per cent most popular employers. This impressively confirms that our social benefits and working environment are perceived positively
and that our company is highly valued as an employer,» commented Erwin Hitzginger, Deputy Managing
Director and HR Manager, on the renewed award.
