As the exclusive re- presentative from the retreading sector, Indag demonstrated how retreaded tyres significantly reduce raw material usage and CO2 emissions by up to 75%, aligning with global sustainability goals. Rohit Kapoor, Senior General Manager of Indag Rubber, highligh- ted the dual benefits of retreading: substantial cost savings for fleet
owners and remarkable performance efficiency. Indag’s showca- se included retreading materials and processes for various vehicle types and applications, emphasising its commitment to quality and environmental stewardship.
The expo drew attention from across the business spectrum, inclu- ding trade visitors, industry associations, and government officials, all keen to explore the environmental and economic advantages of tyre retreading. Discussions at the event pointed to a positive out- look for the retreading industry, fuelled by improvements in road in- frastructure and an increase in radial tyre usage, which is conducive to multiple retreads.
Indag Rubber’s presence at the expo highlighted the potential for sustainable mobility solutions within India’s transport sector and showcased its leading role in promoting retreading practices. Throu- gh initiatives like Indag Consultancy Services, the company aims to elevate standards within the retreading industry further, providing guidance and training to partners on best practices and machinery maintenance.      MIDAS ELEVATES RADIAL TYRE RETREADING STANDARDS WITH NATIONWIDE TECHNICAL TRAINING
Midas Tread, based in Kottayam, In- dia, has been conducting technical training seminars nationwide to raise the standard of radial tyre retreading. Recently focusing on Gujarat, sessions took place in Baroda, Rajkot, and Gan- dhidham, attended by 173 industry professionals, including retreaders and foremen. The training addresses the increasing use of radial tyres in commercial transport and associated challenges.
Directed by Paulose Varughese, these seminars have been well-received, in- dicating a strong industry drive to ele- vate skills and adapt to technological advancements. Topics covered include addressing common market failures and integrating global technological developments to enhance operational efficiency and retreading quality.
Midas plans to extend these programs to Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh to promote best practices in tyre re-
treading. The company‘s comprehen- sive training approach also includes on-site visits, audits, and sessions at its Kottayam facility, underscoring its
commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement in India‘s re- treading industry.
