ELGI ANNOUNCES NEW FRANCHISE OPENING IN GOA AND EXPANDS WITH NEW PLANT IN ASSAM
tament to Elgi’s growth strategy and focus on customer satisfaction with a well-known and reliable local partner. In collaboration with Elgi, Ecco Tyres is set to open its fourth retreading plant in Assam, marking a significant expansion within India’s thriving tyre retreading sector. This move is part of a broader strategy to explore new markets and capitalise on the resur- gence of mining activities, particularly in Goa, where Ecco Tyres recently in- augurated its third plant.
Director Vikrant Pathak highlighted the strategic importance of the new facilities, especially the Goa plant, which caters to both the truck and Off- The-Road (OTR) tyre segments. With a monthly capacity of 1,200 tyres, this facility is optimally positioned to ser- ve the region’s agricultural belts and mining operations, leveraging minimal competition and a robust market de- mand.
The resurgence of mining in Goa, dri- ven by Vedanta’s recent approval to resume iron ore extraction, presents a fresh avenue for growth. This is critical for the retreading industry, which fa- ced challenges during the mining ban. Ecco Tyres’ presence in Goa and now Assam is a testament to the company’s adaptability and commitment to tap- ping into emerging market opportuni- ties.
Ecco Tyres focuses on quality and effi- ciency, employing both conventional hot retreading and precure processes across its sites. The upcoming Guwa- hati plant will begin operations with an initial capacity of 500 tyres per month, further solidifying Ecco Tyres’ position in the industry and its ongoing part- nership with Elgi.
This expansion reflects the dynamic nature of the retreading sector in In- dia and Ecco Tyres’ proactive approach to meeting the growing demand for quality retreaded tyres across diverse markets.
