EXPO RETURNS TO THE EXHIBITION SCENE
   The Latin Tyre & Auto Parts Expo in Panama has finally made a return after the pandemic. The CEO
of the fair, Gus Lima, who has more than fourteen years of experience in promoting this important regional Expo, kicked off the 2023 event on June 14 highlighting the wonders of Panama and the need and impetus of the human being to do business and grow. Even more so, he emphasised the necessity of everyone in the Expo to get rich following a pandemic that closed the Expo for four years.
According to Linda Bassitt, the Latin Expo Group’s Senior Event Director, the show met its expectations, attracting a total of 504 exhibitors and 4,000 qualified buyers. In total over 6,000 Industry professionals attended. However, talking to several companies, we saw a strong shift towards the Asian market compared to previous editions of the show. We asked Bassi- tt whether she thought the trend would continue at the next edition of the show and whether she or planned to generate
alternatives to bring back other important players from within the Tire Industry, such as premium tire brands and exhibitors from the retreading sector. In particular we asked about plans to create a pavilion for tyre recycling and recovery.
