Favourite Brands Awards Announced at Pneushow
According to Bettiol, this new strategy for Unique group is to be achieved across the three differentiated product lines, namely the Tipler branded
other South American countries, an area where the company has not really focused in the past. The company aims to achieve this partly

The second day of The Pneushow in Sao Paulo, Brazil (27 June) saw the Favourite Brands Awards Ceremony, a joint initiative between show organisers Francal Feiras, the Brazilian Retreaders Association ABR and the Sao Paulo State Retreaders Association
ARESP.
Award winners were as follows: Truck Tyre of the Year: Continental, Pre- cure/Camelback Supplier of the Year: Vipal, Agricultural Tyre of the Year: Bridgestone, Retreader of the Year: Ivo Recap,
Machinery and Equipment Suppliers Awards: Vipal and Lukatec, Transporter of the Year: Expresso Sao Miguel, Agricultural Camelback Supplier of the Year: Vipal.

network, the company’s online brand, Borex, and various private brands manufactured for larger retreaders etc. marketed under the Unique label. The company is also looking to start to slowly try and develop a profile in Europe, raising awareness of the Tipler brand.
According to Bettiol, as far as the Tipler brand is concerned, there is a desire to increase the network in
by finding new clients, but also by helping existing dealers increase their sales, and improving and developing technical support to customers. Tipler will also now be promoting Lukatec retreading equipment to its dealers, allow the Group to offer machinery and tread rubber together as a combined proposition to retreaders across the region.
At first, FERLEX had aborted the plan to go to the fair due to the economic climate in Brazil. However, after making a new assessment of the economic scenario and its history of presence in all previous editions, it decided that it would be ideal to demarcate its space at a time when other competitors would be out of the game. Known for its autoclaves, which represent at least 70 per cent of the machines of the type used by retreaders in Brazil, the company brought, as a novelty, a new PLC touch screen control panel. “This panel comes to commemorate the
50th anniversary of Ferlex, it is a pride to celebrate 50 years in the Brazilian metallurgical industry" says Eduardo Paiva, "but we are also reinforcing this banner of the turn-key tyre retreading plant. While we are at the show, a complete plant is being assembled by us in the city of Arequipa, Peru”. The company hopes to continue to activate international contacts to regain its presence abroad. Today exports account for about 10 per cent of its sales, but the expectation is to grow this portion significantly in the short term.
Vipal have continued to expand their rapidly growing equipment division with the launch of a new cushion gum extruder during this year’s Pneushow
held in Sao Paulo,
Brazil.
The new
machine, called
Orbicushion, is
available in three
versions,
VOC560,
VOC760 and
VOC1160 Cargo.
Aimed at different
sizes of retreader
with different
budgets, these
three versions of
the machine offer
production at the rates of 26, 30 and 36 tyres per hour respectively. The Orbicushion guarantees the optimum application of cushion gum in the least possible time, and features a touch screen interface as well as latest generation automisation components in order to help reduce the consumption of
rubber, improve consistency and precision and reduce processing time.

new equipment division is looking to fulfil specific needs in the market and is looking for obvious gaps in the market. The company is also looking to create very strong and robust machines.
Six months ago, Vipal also introduced the VOT2200 Heavy Duty Orbitread machine for OTR
Unique Rubber, which produces the Tipler and Borex brands of tread rubber as well as a range of private brands s looking to increase sales in the South America region by 7-10% through a focused approach to
expansion across the key South American markets and an expansion of the sales force for the region.
