Investment Fuels Growth at Condor
Rosario, Argentina based Condor Group has announced a number of key investments in its retread plant as part of a plan to achieve aggressive growth over the next three years. According to Director Mike Irvine, the company increased the number of retreads produced by 55 per cent during 2017 and is now planning to
have the plant working 24 hours by the end of 2018. In order to achieve this growth, the company installed a Lukatec stitcher in 2016 and at the end of 2017 a new robot buffer and extrusion machine, also both from Lukatec.
Condor also received ISO 9001:2015 certification for its retread process in April 2018.
   Tipler has announced that it is to support a social futsal project UJR (União Jovem do Rincão) through the Sports Incentive Law, promoted by the Brazilian Federal Government. The project serves hundreds of children and adolescents from the outlying communities of Novo Hamburgo. Founded in 1978, the non-profit organisation UJR came up with the aim of promoting integration through sport. Throughout its 30 years of history, UJR has been carrying out important projects to encourage the development of the community.
One of them is the Social Futsal Project, which has now completed 14 years of activity. The project promotes sport as a tool for social transformation in boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 16. Altogether there are almost 500 children and adolescents impacted by the initiative. The UJR team has more than 20 professionals and academic volunteers from different areas to provide full educational services to young people.
