At Reifen 2016, Vipal showcased products bearing the Alpine Symbol and rolling resistance, noise and wet grip
Visitors to Reifen 2016, had the chance to see some of Vipal Rubber’s new products firsthand. The Latin American leader and one of the top worldwide manufacturers of tyre retreading products exhibited its treads that have just received important international seals: the Alpine Symbol and for rolling resistance, noise and wet grip.
The Alpine Symbol rates the efficiency of treads made for operating in heavy snow conditions. In this case, the VDA4 and VT160 treads were tested at an accredited laboratory, which measured their levels of adherence to snow. The results were, respectively, 79 and 60 percent better grip on snow compared to
stock tyres. These results, which far exceed the 25 per cent required to receive the certification, attest to the quality of these Vipal products. Meanwhile, the grading shows the tread’s performance in terms of rolling
resistance and wet grip, on a scale from “A” (most efficient) to “G” (least efficient), and rolling noise, graded in decibels. These criteria – which are important for ensuring good tyre performance – were evaluated by a verified laboratory and yielded positive results for the two tested treads: the VL140A and VT110. These designs, which were selected to start the grading process, are perfect for the cargo transport segment.
Vipal also brought its line of exclusive designs to the trade fair, such as the VRT3, DV-UM3, DV- RT4 and DV-RM treads, as well as the winged treads VL150A and VL140A, and tyre repair and retreading products.

marked, having been designed to offer exceptional traction in
mud and fresh or melting snow. As such, the Bandag BDR-C not only ensures a
longer life but also a broader operating range.
The new pattern features an advanced compound, which is claimed to
drastically reduce the risk of irregular wear, extending
tyre life even further. Indeed, the Bandag BDR-C
integrates Bridgestone’s innovative Tie-Bar
technology, which increases block stiffness, distributing
pressure evenly while also ensuring maximum traction over
the entire contact patch.
Harald Van Ooteghem, Bridgestone’s Senior Manager Truck & Bus Tyres Category Management commented: “Bandag is all about helping our customers get the most out of their tyres, so they can get

Bandag Adds Two Retread Patterns for North American Drive Applications
Bandag’s DR 5.3 and DR4.3 are two retread patterns designed for drive applications in truckload, less-than- truckload and pick-up and delivery fleets.
The Bandag DR 5.3 closed-shoulder drive pattern features a durable shoulder designed for long tread life and uniform wear. The retread also
has an aggressive lug pattern for stronger traction, stone rejecters to prevent stone drilling and is made of a compound designed to increase durability and wear life.
The DR 4.3 is an open-shoulder drive pattern designed for a variety of on and mild off-road applications. With a wide centre
