       Kraiburg Optimises Product Range
Kraiburg presented four new amendments to their product range at the recent Reifen 2016 trade fair; a simpler product naming system, an additional option of cut-to-length patterns, a re-launch of the Pattern Programme and a further concession in the minimum order quantity.
Firstly, the company has introduced new standardised design names, partly to facilitate order processing but also in order to avoid potential errors. For example, the K228 in the K_base range will now be called K 228 base.
Next, all products in the core range are now available as cut- to-length patterns from a width of 240mm or above. These lengths are cut to fit the main tyre sizes. Kraiburg is also offering several lengths for selected tyre dimensions. Besides the weight reduction, this additional option allows maximum productivity in serial production as there is no need for either measuring or cutting.
The amount of waste is also minimised. The raw parameters (raw circumference and raw width) can also be adjusted to achieve the optimum fit for the carcass.
The change in the naming system has resulted in Kraiburg producing a new revised pattern programme, which is claimed to be even clearer, with four designs to one page instead of six. Finally, Kraiburg is now offering an additional minimum order quantity in custom tread section production runs. Customers looking for a product not listed in the range of patterns can now order lower quantities of the tread they require. The minimum order of 40 long rolls has now been reduced to 15 long rolls, and the minimum order for short rolls has been slashed from 120 to just 45. The only requirements are that the profile is available, that the customer takes the full order quantity immediately and that a 3-4 week lead time is allowed for delivery.
Michelin Americas Truck Tires, a division of Michelin North America, Inc., has introduced the Michelin MD XDN 2 Pre- Mold retread - a drive-position
tough start-stop, turning and curbing conditions as they get their products to market each day," said Adam Murphy, vice president of marketing for Michelin Americas Truck Tires. "They demand a retread option that is as tough as the roads they drive on. The new Michelin MD XDN 2 Pre-Mold retread answers those demands with long, even wear and excellent traction."
The Michelin MD XDN 2 Pre- Mold retread features an 18/32 inch tread depth for 190/200 tread sizes and a 20/32 inch tread depth for 210/220/230 tread sizes. The tread design minimizes the internal casing temperature to contribute to a longer casing and tread life. Wide, open-shoulder grooves provide outstanding wear and full-depth sipes deliver excellent traction.
 Michelin MD XDN 2 Pre-MoldTM
retread optimised for long wear life, lasting durability and outstanding traction for regional, medium-duty vehicles with 19.5 inch tyres. It has attributes consistent with food and beverage, parcel package, and pick-up and delivery applications.

The Tugmaster has been designed for the specific application of yard and dock shunters, offering a great solution to offset the stop/start/curbing demands of
such vehicles.
The tyre, currently available in 295/80R22.5, is being widely used by Bandvulc Plus+ retail shunter vehicles as well as being an original equipment option.
