ABR Meets with Ministry of Environment to Discuss the Green Seal
IPT Performs Final Tests on Retreaded Motorcycle Tyres
ABR, Alexandre Moreira Pascoli, spoke about the agreement with ABNT for the environmental labeling of retreading companies in Brazil, which resulted in the Green Seal. "Our presentation generated a great deal of interest
amongst the participants, who did not know this scenario of our market," says Carlos Thomaz.
The purpose of the director of the Ministry of Environment in attending the seminar was to introduce the international association of the host country experience with eco-labeling and the National Action Plan, according to Carlos Thomaz, which motivated the ABR to request a hearing to publicise the benefits of Green Seal for the retreading segment. "The ABR will discuss with the Ministry of Environment's Green Seal initiative," explained the Technical Advisor. "Our goal is to encourage retreaders to join the project to take advantage of its sustainable benefits and join a worldwide programme to protect the environment," he added.
The process of retreading motorcycle tyres has entered a decisive stage in Brazil. This March, the IPT (Institute for Research and Technology) has been performing the final testing of samples in the laboratory, both of new and retread tyres.
