likely to be operational by November 2011.
Now headquartered in Mumbai, Tyresoles used to be based at Goa, but in the last few years the plant was relocated to new site in Belgaum. The new position has two plants for retreading truck tyres and tractor and smaller tyres. The third plant is going to be to dedicated to earthmover retreading. Previously, it was not logistically possible to cater for the important OTR markets from Goa and further expansion was not possible there. Therefore, Tyresoles shifted the OTR plant to Belgaum. “Currently, we are retreading about 100 tractor and smaller OTR tyres. We are all set to hike the production to 200 tyres by the end of 2011,” said Sanghi.
Currently, Tyresoles has the capacity to retread 15,000 truck tyres, 2,500 tractor and smaller OTR. Increased capacity enabling the retreading of another 500
earthmover tyres per month will be in place by November 2011. “We have a capacity of around 18,000 tyres per month and we retread 13,000 tyres every month,” Sanghi said. Once the new earthmover plant becomes operational, Tyresoles have also plans to expand by retreading sizes up to 40.57/36.51 at the new facility. The company consumes almost 200 tonnes of tread every month. When asked from where it buys tread, Sanghi replied, ‘There are 2-3 tread making plants in the close vicinity and they manufacture to our specifications.’
Tyresoles is eyeing up the mining sector. “We are planning to set two more OTR plants in Madhya Pradesh and Rasjasthan by March 2012,” said Sanghi. He added, “There is a big mining sector to cater for in these two states.”

retreading earthmover tyres anywhere in India,” claimed Karun Sanghi, Managing Director, Tyresoles. The earthmoving unit will retread tyres from size 18.00X29 to 24.00X49. The plant is to have a six-segmented mould to retread radial tyres. "The moulds are being developed locally," informed Sanghi. The plant is

Tyre Expo India attracted a few buyers from Africa as well as from Asia. India is always a favourite hunting ground for retreading machinery with suppliers with equipment to suit all kinds of budgets.

Zimbabwean, Taurai Hove is planning foray into retreading soon and was at the show looking to buy equipment . “We are already into tyre repair business, repairing truck, passenger and earthmover tyres,” said
Hove of Harare-based Radial and Crossply Tyres.
Radial & Crossply Tyres has already bought land for the retreading plant. “We are looking to import retreading plant from India. India has reputation of having suppliers with the equipment that suits our budget ,” said Hove. The Zimbabwean was also travelling to China after the Indian show.
The Harare based company is looking for a 25 tyre chamber for retreading truck tyres. “We are planning our retreading plant in the capital Harare with an initial capacity of 500 tyres per month,” Hove shared.
