TVS Tread to Raise Tread Capacity
TVS Tread, part of the Indian conglomerate Sundaram Industries Limited, is again hiking tread making capacity as well as expanding its presence in the North Indian market. “We have capacity of 300 tonnes per month, which is largely consumed by our retreading units,” said Mr V R Chandrasekaran, Sr Vice President, TVS Tread. Besides manufacturing tread, TVS Tread also operates retreading plants, mostly in the Southern part of India. “Our combined installed capacity of all of our 20 retreading plants is about 40,000 tyres per month. The company plans to set up more retreading units in the Northern part of India to increase its presence in the Northern market. “We may expand in the Northern India in the near future,” Chandrasekaran said.
