BEST EPR SCHEME BEST TYRE RECYCLING INDUSTRY SUPPLIER Indian equipment manufacturer Fornnax won the Best Tyre Recycling Industry Supplier Award for the first time VALORPNEU AND FORNNAX STRIKE GOLD The final two awards are the award for the best EPR Scheme and the Best Tyre Recy- cling Industry Supplier. In the best EPR scheme category, the Por- tuguese EPR scheme Valorpneu won by a narrow margin from last year’s winners from Ecuador, Seginus. Reasons given for Valorpneu’s nomination included the fact that they operate successfully in a relati- vely small national market but with a high recovery rate. The scheme, which has now been active for over twenty years, has over 50 reception centres including over 40 on the mainland plus one in Madeira and several in the Azo- res. Throughout its two decades of activity, Va- lorpneu has invested in research and inno- vation programmes for the development of new technologies and new solutions for materials derived from end-of-life tyres, enhancing the development of this sector. These include the Valorpneu Innovation Awards, the Inovacao Awards and the Ne- xtLap Project, an innovation project, which Valorpneu CEO Climenia Silva shows off the award seeks large-scale solutions from the recy- cling of end-of-life tyres. The winner of the Best Tyre Recycling In- dustry Supplier this year is the Indian equi- pment manufacturer Fornnax, who put together a very proactive campaign to gua- rantee engagement in the awards from its suppliers, customers and employees. Fornnax Recycling Technology is among the fastest growing equipment suppliers to the sector and has demonstrated exceptional performance and innovation in their field. The company says its machinery and pro- cesses aim to revolutionise tyre recycling, making it more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly. In terms of the collection of the awards Va- lorpneu CEO Climenia Silva was unable to be present in Bologne, so her award was picked up by Rita Marques from FEDIMA. Climenia, however, is pictured here picking up here award. Fornnax were also unable to attend the ceremony, so their award will be presented to them at an upcoming trade show in Europe. P.XXIII
