    FOUGHTY WINS EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD
  EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
The clear winner of this year’s Employee of the Year Award was Jim Foughty, who is Goodyear’s Manager of Field Services - Retread Systems for North America. He heads a team of Regional Tech- nical Service Engineers that monitor the Goodyear Authorized Retread Network focusing on retread systems, procedures, and material. He has worked         with retreading goes back to 1978 when he wor- ked for his father’s retread shop. Foughty learned the retread business and operations there until the business was sold to T&W Tire in 1989. Jim then went to work for Purcell Tire and operated the re- tread operations in multiple states until 2001 when the Goodyear Commercial Tire and Service Center network (Wingfoot) approached him to head their 50+ retread plant operations, and over the years moved to the position of Senior Director of Retread Manufacturing.
Throughout his career, Jim Foughty has made sig-        selling retreads, operating retread equipment, ma- naging plants, designing equipment/plants to over- seeing Goodyear’s authorised retread network. He

is known as a go-to person for retreading and dea- ling with retread customers who may have ques- tions or concerns about retreads.
In an interview following the announcement of his award, Foughty commented: “This individual award is special because it’s voted on by your colleagues and industry friends that take part in this choice, so I know it’s an individual award, but speaking for myself, many of these same colleagues have colla- borated, consulted and even mentored me over my career and made it possible for one of their collea- gues to receive this recognition, so I’m grateful to everyone that’s been involved.”
