BUSINESS BREAK THROUGH AWARD
The Business Breakthrough Award is aimed at recognising companies who have achieved entry or growth by a company active within the tyre retreading or recycling sector during the course of the previous year, and this year there were several outstanding candidates for the award.
The voting process also produced a particu- - cognition of this fact, both VM Rubber and Tyromer are deserving of particular mention here, as both can count themselves unfortu- nate not to win.
The eventual winner, however, was the Ca- nada-based cleantech company Ecolomon- including the green light for commencement of production at its Hawkesbury facility and the completion of a multi-year tyre feedstock

“People need large quantities of recycled products today,” commented Ecolomondo CEO Eliot Sorella when asked to comment on the company’s success. “Sustainability is criti- cal. We are working towards that end. That’s why we built the plant in Hawkesbury, we are building another plant in Texas that’s three ti- mes the size, and we hope to build other ones, so I believe Ecolomondo will be very well po- sitioned and become one of the key players in the industry going forward.”
