The show attracted about 80 exhibitors, the majority of them
tyres used in buses and trucks to protect domestic manufacturers from below-cost shipments from China two years ago.
Only a few tyre companies from China exhibited at the Chennai event, a marked difference from earlier editions when their presence was comparable with local exhibitors.
Now the exhibition organiser is
organising the next event in Mumbai instead of Delhi in order to attract more exhibitors and trade visitors. We believe Mumbai is a better place to have this kind of event as Mumbai has a robust buyers base. Apart from that, the Mumbai – Pune region is regarded as India’s biggest auto hub with Pune also being a major fleet hub for the western
     companies exhibited, namely Elgi Rubber Limited on the tread and machinery side, Glisen Equipments, Myers India Limited and Unipatch Rubber Limited on the tyre repair side. Few foreign visitors appeared during the three-day event organised every alternate year in Chennai and New Delhi, the show, to be fair, is targeted at meeting the needs
from India with a few also from China. “The number of exhibitors is up by about 15% from the last edition,” informed Naveen Thapa, Asst Director (Projects Management), SingEx Exhibitions (India) Pvt Ltd.
The Chinese influence at the show has visibly declined as India imposed anti-dumping duties on certain types of radial
also considering shifting the location of the Delhi edition, planned for next year, to Mumbai. “We are contemplating
