retreading options takes precedence with mining applications in regions such as Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia requiring solutions such as these,” expanded Rodriguez.
The TRM range wasn’t the only portfolio being presented by Shamrock though, as the dealer used the fair as a platform to promote the second-generation Bulldog curing envelope that they are bringing to market.
So why has a second generation Bulldog envelope been conceived? Well, the main concept that supports the new envelope was for to reach further up the sidewall of the tyre, thus permitting a better seal with the outer envelope. On top of this, an anti-ozone coating has been added to aid the envelopes during their full service.
Rodriguez explains, “we are always looking for ways to make the product easier to use and have a longer life and to benefit customers. Ultimately, that is what we have here with the second generation Bulldog envelope.”
The third and final product launch being exhibited by Shamrock in Panamá was a new buffing blade called the Talon 2. Developed by B&J Rocket, the new Talon 2 buffing blade has been designed for a 4- segment hub to replace Ultra-II or LLII blades and assures long service life and a finished buff texture. Attention quickly turned to their position in markets and the brand awareness that the Shamrock Marketing name commands. Rodriguez clarified the situation, “we have good positions in a number of markets. In some markets we have distributors and in others we deal directly with the clients. We are seeing that more companies recognise the Shamrock brand and see the value in the products and services that we offer.”
“At this point in time we have a strong presence in Latin American countries. We also do some business in Brazil and Argentina, with the latter especially being a tough market. Despite this, we are working on expanding our presence in these territories and continuing to support other distributors in the region,” highlighted Rodriguez.
A natural curiosity is how Shamrock plan to support this growth? One of the main strategic points that will underpin this growth is through regular market visits, forming alliances in the region, promoting the brands that they offer and represent, as well as working closely with their existing clients to find more efficient ways of doing business.
This growth is supported by a team of technicians on site that can lend a helping hand in advising on any type of technical issue that could arise with the equipment offered by the company. The fact that they are multi-lingual and can travel adds a further degree of flexibility and more advantages to their clients.
Rodriguez pointed out, “We are always trying to differentiate from the competition and understand fully the importance of offering a niche and tailored service to our clients, so that we stand out from the rest.” “Considering we offer consulting, equipment, consumables and training, we have the capabilities to off a complete 360 level package. With the impact of Chinese tyres that are being made and challenge that they are proposing we know we have to adjust accordingly to help our clients succeed. As if they succeed, we succeed,” stated Rodriguez.
Back closer to home in the United States, Shamrock has been attempting to support their sales by offering free memberships to TRIB in a promotion that is currently ongoing. How does this work? It functions by customers making purchases in order to give them the opportunity to participate in a prize draw to win a free TRIB membership.
This promotion though not only benefits them at home, but in Latin America, as Rodriguez highlights, “we are looking to extend to Latina America and with TRIB having members in Latina America, we felt that a promotion of this style helps us to attract new clients, helps TRIB to grow its membership and awareness, whilst also allowing our clients access to the benefits that TRIB membership can provide.”

research and development process, it has managed to create a new selection of environmentally-friendly tyres that are of an enhanced quality
