New Environmentally Sustainable Buffing Blades from Kroxer
Argentina based company Buenos Aires Technologies S.A, has just brought to the market a revolutionary new range of buffing blades under the brand name Kroxer, which is characterised by the use of three times less steel
traditional technique of blades for tyre buffing.
These new mini-blades are not mounted on the core bolts but on the spacers of the assembly, the latter being transformed into blade mounting adapters, and are made
of heat-treated steel in its clamping sector and aluminum in the rest of its body for greater heat dissipation. The Kroxer System considerably lengthens the life of the separator since the hardness of its securing sectors are similar. The new Kroxer mini-blades achieve an excellent buffing finish and better than or equal performance when compared to the
best blades on the market.
The innovative system allows the assembly of the same aluminum cores as with the traditional technique, although the best performance is claimed to be
obtained with the company’s exclusive aerated cores, with forced ventilation by turbine, that supports the hardest working conditions without increasing the temperature of the blade set. Regarding environmental sustainability, the company points out that that 5000 kW of energy is used to manufacture each ton of steel, 150,000 to 250,000 litres of waste water are emitted and 2 tons of gaseous emissions (including CO2, sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides).
Kroxer blades allow
the same work to
be carried out but
using three times
less steel, whilst
also saving energy
in the heat
treatment processes
to which the blade
is subjected. This is
due to the fact that
the weight of the
blades is almost 5
times lighter than
traditional blades.
For example, a box
of blades for
assembling 50 sets
(1400 units) weighs
only 6.5 kg against more than 35 kg with the traditional technique. With patents for invention presented in different countries, including the USA, India, Brazil and European countries, Buenos Aires Technologies SA is interested in talking with those interested in securing licenses to manufacture this new product.
