On March 24, at an event held in the auditorium of the Santa Adélia Power Plant at the Pereira Barreto installation in São Paulo, the company mobilised a group of 37 professionals to train in truck tyre maintenance.
Developed with lectures, practical and dynamic activities, the course addressed the main characteristics of haulage tyres, as well as storage, assembly and disassembly techniques. In addition, topics such as denomination, tyre parts, load
and pressure, operating conditions and CPK were also cited.
Lastly, Tiago Bubadra, Commercial Advisor at Vipal and presenter of the course, talked about the benefits of the retread and techniques to extend tyre life.
The event was presented to drivers, maintenance professionals and leading collaborators in the company, such as Marcio Santos da Silva, Vehicle Maintenance Manager, and Marcio Souza Rosa, Ferti-irrigation Coordinator at the Santa Adélia Plant.

Brazil based bus and coach fleet Viação Vaz has reported achieving significant fuel savings by using Vipal’s range of Eco Treads. It purchases the retreads from NSA Pneutec, Vipal’s Authorised Dealer Network retreading company from Sao Paulo. By using the DV-UM3B ECO tread, the carrier says it has achieved an expressive 18.7 per cent saving in fuel against the
standard design performance. The analyses, conducted during a two day period recently, was mediated by Josemar Putti, Vipal Rubber Business Consultant, Brasilio Orias Vaz, Viação Vaz Supply Manager, and MPF Controle de Pneus, the company supervising the tests. Viação Vaz, founded in 2002 in the city of Santo André, is part of the União Santo André Consortium.
