LATIN AMERICA
Vipal Promotes Retreading at Panama Show
Vipal Presents Solutions at Andellac Conference
Vipal Rubber believes in the importance of disseminating knowledge about tyre retreading benefits all over the world. With this in mind, the company gave a talk about the topic during the Latin American & Caribbean Tyre Expo 2015, held from July 16 to 18 at the ATLAPA Convention Center in Panama City.
At the event, the presentation was led by Vipal’s commercial coordinator for Mexico and Central America, Jean Barros. In his talk he emphasised the importance of the monetary and natural resource savings generated by tyre retreading. “A retreaded tyre can be up to 60 per cent more affordable
than a new tyre, economising an average of 57 litres of petroleum during its manufacture and reducing energy consumption by as much as 80 per cent,” he stated. Barros also talked about fuel economy and the technology used
by Vipal to develop products that benefit the carrier with this factor. During the trade fair, the company also displayed several items from its tread line, including the VL130 ECO, which provides up to 10per cent reduction in fuel consumption. This is the first South American tread to be validated by the North American Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay programme.
Vipal’s portfolio at the trade fair also included the DV line, consisting of treads designed exclusively for the cargo and passenger transport segment, such as the DV-UM3B and DV-RM.
Vipal Rubber recently exhibited its tyre retreading solutions at the 42nd Andellac Conference at the Moon Palace Hotel in Cancun, México. Among its product range, special mention goes to the VRT2 tread strip, a new option for the local market. Already a hit in other markets, the VRT2 is a drive axle pattern dedicated to cargo and passenger transport and is perfect for driving on paved surfaces.
Vipal also took the opportunity to promote the VT170 ECO, a tread strip for cargo vehicles that was recently approved by the EPA’s SmartWay Transport programme. As part of the ECO line, the VT170 follows the pattern of using

Concurrently with
the conference,

companies in the
Vipal Authorized
Dealer Network to meet at the Le Blanc Hotel in Cancun. This initiative was intended to foster a close relationship between these partners and provide opportunities to debate about the segment, the pace of the market, and future actions.
“We strive to have frequent meetings like this, since they are an important opportunity to talk about the needs of each of our clients,” underlined Jean Barros, Vipal’s Business Coordinator for Mexico and Central America.
In Mexico, Vipal operates through a Distribution Center and a branch office, in addition to a permanent regional team and a network of 14 authorised retreaders.
