AIRP Claims Crisis Hits Mobility
The Italian Association of Retreaders (AIRP) has carried out a study on mobility.– the Observation on Sustainable Mobility. The economic crisis, between 2007 and 2012 saw the number of trips made by Italians on the average weekday drop from 123.5 million to 96.5 million, a decrease of 21.9 per cent.
In urban areas the drop was from 76 million to 58.6 million, a decrease of 22.9 per cent. Rural movements dropped by
20.2 per cent from 47.5 million to 37.9 million.
The report noted that despite the drop in mobility the car remained the dominant method of transport with the urban reduction being 1.3 per cent, and the rural reduction just 0.8 per cent.
The reduction in mobility reflects the impact of the economic crisis, and also impacts upon trade for retreaders and new tyre retailers alike.

Along with celebrating its two-millionth X One wide-base single truck tyre, Michelin Americas Truck Tires rolled out its new X One Line Energy T linehaul trailer tyre and the accompanying X One Line Energy T Pre- Mold retread at the Mid-America Trucking Show.
