              Vipal Wins “Top Rubber” Award for 6th Time
 Vipal recently attended the 10th edition of the Top Rubber Awards sponsored by the magazine Borracha Atual from Aspa Publisher, São Paulo.
The Vipal brand was first in the
“treads” category, an award which has existed since 2006. This was the sixth time overall that the brand had been chosen as the best in the segment and the fourth award in a row.
The event took place Nov. 6 at the Esperia Club in Sao Paulo. Ivanir Canevese, Commercial Manager of Vipal , received the award on behalf of the company.
The vote for the Top Rubber awards is made by the readers and subscribers of the magazine, an audience of professionals in the transport and rubber markets , including industry, fleets,
retreaders, among others. According to Antonio Carlos Spaletta, director of Aspa Publisher, "the award is a recognition by the market of companies that bring any advantage to the segment such as technology, quality and social responsibility, which is totally the case when it comes to Vipal.”

  Vipal recently participated in Expo Transportation ANPACT, which took place from 13-15 November in Guadalajara, Mexico. Besides the DV-UM3, also on display was the ECO line of treads, a unique and pioneering product that, due to its advanced technology, generates fuel economy while preserving nature. Made with special rubber compounds, the ECO tread range generates a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 10 per cent. Important carriers from Brazil are already using ECO treads in their vehicles with significant results in terms of fuel economy. According to Vipal, significant results have been achieved in a fleet of school buses in North Carolina, United States, where 10.1 per cent savings were recorded using Vipal ECO treads.
   NTC Names Bridgestone Bandag Best Manufacturer of Treads and Repair Products
Bridgestone Bandag has received the NTC (National Association of Transport and Logistics) award for the best manufacturer of treads and tyre repair products in the XVI NTC Suppliers Transport Award 2013. The award was announced during an event held at HSBC Brazil in Sao Paulo in December and was the 15th year in succession that Bridgestone Bandag has won the award.
Winning the award, said the company, was the result of the main differential Bridgestone Bandag claims to offer in the retread segment: a partnership with the dealer network and the concern of all to extend the company's vision
of being recognised as the best provider of solutions, ensuring customers a consistent reduction in costs and providing products and services that exceed market expectations.
The winners of the award were determined by the Datafolha Institute, who heard views of more than 400 freight transportation companies. Those responsible for related areas in each category chose their favourite vendors from a list. Bridgestone Bandag has participated in the NTC Suppliers Transportation Award in all previous editions, having been recognised as the Best Manufacturer of Treads and Tyre Repair in 15 of the 16 editions.

Vipal introduced two new products for the fair, these being tread designs VL and VT 120L 110L. These treads have been designated as “Slim”, as they have the characteristic of being lighter, providing an additional option for fleets to retread their tyres.
Fleets, Drivers and visitors who visited the Vipal stand were also able to check out a number of unique products Vipal has designed for all types of transport segments. One of the highlights was the tread DV-UM3, suitable for urban buses and trucks and providing up to 15 per cent more mileage compared to its previous version. The product’s unique design allows for greater contact area with the floor, providing fuel economy, higher performance and lower cost per mile to carriers.
Vipal in North America
Present in all continents, Vipal planted its flag in Mexico in 2004 and today claims 10 per cent of the local market. The company operates a distribution center and a subsidiary, as well having an ongoing regional team.
As a strategy, besides constantly attending the most important international trade fairs, Vipal recently allocated one of its three plants in Brazil solely for export production. Also, in August, in order to meet the growth in exports, Vipal inaugurated its third distribution centre in the United States, located in Los Angeles, California, with a storage capacity of 1500 pallet positions. The new distribution centre covers the entire U.S. West Coast and some states of the central West and central regions of Canada.
  Rank Rubbers Invests in New Machinery
During the second half of November new equipment ordered by Rank Rubbers began to arrive. The first machine to be delivered was a hydraulic press that will soon be working along the other presses for treads.
The new press will bring a significant increase in the
production of treads benefiting customers by providing greater speed in the manufacturing and delivery of products.
Rank is scheduled to replace and modernise all its machinery by the end of 2014 and is planning the expansion of its manufacturing facilities for years into the future.
