TCS Ties Tyre Dealer Websites to Facebook
Pre-Q Galgo supports the US Environmental Protection Agency program and has been approved for verification for low rolling resistance of its Pre-Q Galgo DP tread for use on Long-haul class-8

This product meets the requirements of the SmartWay Technology programme that verifies low rolling resistance retreaded tyres which help reduce truck fuel consumption by at least 3 per cent, according to the EPA. This program is compliant with California Air Resources Board (CARB) as well. The Pre-Q Galgo DP has distinct features when compared to a regular tread such as an advanced fuel-efficient cool-running compounds to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions; has a distinctive with a green line embedded in the tread design that is deep enough to last until the tread is worn out. TCS, a software and internet marketing provider in the tyre and auto service industry in North America, now offers four direct connections between tyre dealer websites and Facebook with the release of two new Facebook Apps: the ‘TCS Coupons App’ and the ‘TCS Store Finder App.’ Dealers can now automatically display manufacturer promotions, store offers and marketing messages both inside Facebook and on their website with the release of the TCS Coupons App. Multi-location tyre dealers who offer a store finder on their TCS website can mirror that experience inside Facebook via the new TCS Store Finder App. TCS has continued to grow social media connections from dealer websites to Facebook giving visitors a seamless experience from website
North Carolina and McGee Tire & Auto Service of Florida are among the first dealers to implement the two new Facebook Apps. TCS has partnered with both dealers to grow a significant Facebook Fan audience and use social media to generate new and loyal customers. “It's all about being where your customers are and many are all over social media today. Our focus has been to connect with our loyal fan base and leverage the “network” factor of Facebook for our brand. We feel tyre and auto service shoppers are using Facebook more and more to look for deals, coupons and references to credible shops. The TCS Apps were a natural extension to our efforts. Our team has been ver y pleased with the result of the addition of their apps so far,” stated Ryan Benton of Black’s
   Don’t Steal Confidential Information
Everyone knows that staff will bring certain assets with them when they transfer employers. In fact, head hunted staff can be recruited because of what they know. That is the way of the world. However, there are limits to how much information an employee can take with him when he swaps employer.
Porter Wright Morris and Arthur LLP, report the outcome of a case where a staff member left H&H Industries, the US-based OTR specialist, to join a competing firm, Polar Rubber Products. H&H Industries were suspicious about some activity and decided to invest in forensic examination of the employee, Erik Miller’s computer activity. In the following court action it was discovered and proven, as a result of forensic examination of the computers, mobile phones and other devices, that Miller had indeed downloaded and disseminated confidential client and pricing information from H&H Industries.
The detail of the case reads like something out of CSI, with flash drive records being traced and actions timed and logged as evidence.
The forensic examiner’s evidence and testimony led the court to determine that it could not trust Miller to work for Polar without using, disclosing or otherwise
misappropriating H&H’s confidential pricing information. As a result, the court granted H&H’s request for a preliminar y injunction that included the prevention of Miller working for Polar.
The court was not unsympathetic to the hardship caused by Miller’s inability to work for Polar, but explained “that the special circumstances of this case warrant such a serious measure.” The special circumstances of which the court wrote consisted of Miller’s deceptive conduct that was shown by the forensic computer examination. This case demonstrates that when a plaintiff has good reason to believe its confidential or trade secret information has been taken by a former employee, the plaintiff should preserve the company-owned electronic devices used by the former employee, seek immediate preservation of the former employee’s personal electronic devices, and seriously consider having a forensic examination of those devices conducted. Without such an examination, the plaintiff may never learn, nor be able to demonstrate to the court, the nature and extent of a former employee’s misappropriation.
   14 Retreading Business
to Facebook and dealers a hands- off social media management experience.
“Facebook is now almost ubiquitous among Tire Dealers, and most of the US online population have a Facebook account, so it's not surprising that our clients are asking us to develop Facebook applications for them,” stated Barry Reese, TCS President. “With the addition of these two new Facebook apps, Facebook users can now have a website experience that is native to the Facebook environment. By providing both social media and website tools and services for our dealers to use to generate sales, dealers are able to deliver a more consistent experience and message to buyers.”

With the introduction of the Coupons and Store Finder Facebook applications, TCS is adding to its collection of social products and services, and providing dealers with yet another avenue through which they can generate new sales. These new apps are joining the suite of other TCS Facebook apps including a Like Us & Save app, and a Tire Finder app which is an extension of the dealer’s website offering Facebook visitors the same tyre shopping experience on Facebook as on their website.
