The development of the Chinese highways network is creating a driving force for the tyre sector and opportunities for the retread industry
 Q-Plus Check-Up Promotion
Back in January 2013 Andreas Müller, Managing Director of B&J Rocket launched the company’s global marketing campaign with the words, “We want loyalty to pay off!”
For years B&J Rocket rasp systems have been considered to be amongst the most effective and reliable tools in the retreading business. On the one hand the company owes this success story to its sales partners worldwide, on the other hand to the retreaders as users. The intensive dialogue contributes to the constant improvement of products and services and represents an important step in the Quality Plus program which was launched by B&J some time ago.
With the Q-Plus check-
Up promotion customers can acquire vouchers with the purchase of original B&J buffing blades and, depending on the number of vouchers, they can then either have their rasp head
overhauled and, if not yet on hand, upgraded with the Turbo technology or receive a completely new rasp head including fitting as desired.
The customer simply collects his invoices for B&J buffing blade purchases throughout the calendar year 2013. For every 500 sets he receives a voucher, which he can trade in immediately. Or he collects more vouchers with further blade purchases to trade in other services at no cost to the customer for either product or services. Only freight costs are charged.
After the first 6 months’ running period B&J drew up an interim assessment. “We have seen a significant increase in demand”, Müller summarises. Now customers need to check how far the requirements for the purchase of vouchers have been met and/or how many blade purchases are yet needed. B&J emphasises that only flawless rasp heads achieve best results for longevity.
 10 Retreading Business
have misconceptions about the tyre retreading industry. Retreaded tyres are often considered to be unsafe and produced by small workshops. Besides, some Chinese media constantly vilify the tyre retreading industry as "illegal business" and “highly polluting”. As a result, many vehicle owners refuse to use retreaded tyres. Secondly, China still lacks corresponding regulations or
consumer in the world. The car parc in China has been rising as well, reaching about 120 million and increasing by 13.4 per cent in 2012. Private cars have gradually transformed from "luxur y" to "daily commodities", and many car owners now prefer “used cars” to “new cars”, which is conducive to the development of the tyre retreading industry. Car owners in China have become more willing to accept retreaded tyres between
that of a new one. The OTR tyre retreading market capacity of China is expected to be over USD 100 million annually, which indicates promising development prospects.
In 2012, the Chinese government issued Access Conditions of the Tyre Retreading Industry and Access Conditions of the Scrap Tyre Utilisation Industry, which regulates China’s tyre retreading industry to some degree and provided policy support for the development of the industry.
According to the report, the Chinese tyre retreading industr y possesses great prospects. There are many opportunities for tyre retreading enterprises and tyre retreading equipment enterprises to invest.
policies in charge of the pollution and recycling of scrap tyres. On the one hand, scrap tyres are burned and discarded in large amounts, which not only severely pollutes the environment, but is also a waste of resources; on the other hand, it causes a serious shortage of raw materials for enterprises processing and recycling scrap tyres in China. Finally, because of misconceptions, many drivers in China tend to keep using the tyres till the tyres are scrapped instead of retreading or recycling the tyres according to their wear limit indicators, which not only leads to unsafe driving, but also leaves tyres with little utilisation value for retreading due to excessive wear.
Due to the above factors, the Chinese tyre retreading industr y has been developing ver y slowly in the past decade. In 2012, the scrap tyre retreading rate in China was less than seven per cent, far lower than that in developed countries.
Along with China's economic development, China’s automobile market has developed rapidly and China has become the largest automobile producer and
2005 to 2012.
As highway networks in China have been gradually improved in recent years, highway transportation has become the primar y means of transport. The development of the Chinese highway transport industr y also drives the usage volume of tyres, which provides favourable conditions for the development of the tyre retreading industr y.
In recent years, the Chinese government has significantly increased investment in such
fixed assets as highways, railways, metro, etc., to promote economic growth. In 2012, investment in fixed assets (excluding rural households) in China reached CNY 36.4835 trillion, increasing by 20.6 per cent YOY, much higher than the GDP growth rate. The rapid growth of fixed assets investment also continuously raises the demand for and reserves of OTR tyres. Estimates suggest that China has needed over 5 million OTR tyres annually in recently years, with the annual OTR tyre market being over USD 1 billion. In China, a retreaded OTR tyre has the service life about 70 per cent that of a new tyre, but the price is only 40-50 per cent
Otrusa.Com Launches New Grünload Line
In an effort to maximise the working life of tyres and seek green initiatives to promote reuse of materials, Otrusa.Com has developed the Grünload line to compliment its other lines of new premium OTR tyres.
Representing the pinnacle of quality in retreading, Grünload tyres are re- manufactured in Germany using Michelin casings and a patented curing process to produce a remould with performance on par with a new premium brand OTR tyre. The pre-cure tread used in the re-manufacture often out- performs the working hours obtained by the original tyres and gives a green second life to top quality casings. Otrusa.Com stands behind the
quality and performance of Grünload loader tyres with a full lifetime warranty against premature failure due to defects in material and workmanship - unprecedented in the industr y. The savings in material input and energy costs of Grünload represent both an environmentally conscious and economically advantageous choice for mining and construction companies using large loader tyres. Grünload tyres achieve top-tier performance equal to new premium brand tyres at an economical price and provide an environmentally beneficial option to the mining and construction industries for their OTR tyre needs.
