Elgi Shows Refocus at Recaufair
Steinbichler Targets South America

With a big stand at the Pneushow Recaufair in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Elgi presented its new portfolio of company names for the market. Since Elgi moved into the international retreading market it has been making great efforts to grow and show its potential to the retreading sector. During recent years several changes were made, new products were created, a few companies were bought by Elgi and the company was present at all the most important retreading events around the world. During this time, the new structure of the company was created.
Elgi Rubber Compnany Limited is now focusing all its efforts on general tyre servicing and the wider tyre market.
Mr.George Morgan, General Manager for Elgi in Brazil says, “The new strategy of our group of companies is to acquire all the
technical and manufacturing capacity for each process stage associated with the retreading and servicing of tyres”. The company is more than happy to say that it is open to discuss all needs from the rubber sector and is ready to meet those demands.

After just over a year working in the America´s with Steinbichler, Mr. Armin Müller has declared that the company’s products have been a success. Several shearography tyre testing machines have been sold and an important number of machines are in negotiation in Brazil, Argentina and México.
Through the now highly successful business partnership with the retreading company Recapados Pneus in the south of Brazil, Steinbichler Optotechnik will be installing an INTACT tyre testing system at the new retreading production facility of Recmil (Grupo Milla) in Carhué (550 km south of Buenos Aires).
Grupo Milla, who is a partner of Bridgestone / Firestone, owns four retreading plants, about sixteen service offices in the middle and south of Argentina and engages more than 270 employees.
Recmil co-operates with the Italian company Marangoni and offers its clients the highest quality in
retreading tyres to give the highest mileage and the maximum safety. With the investment in an INTACT 1200-1 Inline, the management expects more objectivity in the tyre testing process and more efficiency in the production.
The end customer gets more safety and profitability using retreaded tyres that are tested with a Shearography based system.
Mr. Héctor Milla, owner, and Ing. Alejandro Bousquet, production manager and the whole team of Recmil intend to increase production, extend their leadership, especially in south Argentina and strengthen their customer relationships.
Mr. Germán Weigandt, owner of the company Rodar / NER, relies on the technological advantage given by the INTACT tyre testing systems which he has installed at his plant in Córdoba and he has now also ordered one more for the parent plant in Entre Rios.
Rodar / NER produces about
