Revipal Rubber Vulk Celebrates 15 Years With Vipal
Saudi Bans Some Imports
The increasingly successful partnership between Revipal and Vipal started in 1995 and the two companies can now mark 15 years of close co-operation. The early days of the partnership were difficult and had to overcome many obstacles such as distance and distrust of an unknown brand. However, as soon as the first tyre shops applied
only traditional European brands were present.

Importing a wide range of used goods into Saudi, including some used car parts including tyres and vehicles more than five years old will be banned, Abdullah Ahmed Zainal, Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industry, said in a statement. The ministry circulated the statement to relevant departments for enactment with the beginning of the new year. It will be illegal to import
various used goods such as electrical appliances and clothes, the statement said.
The statement also includes a requirement that local tyre retreading factories have their products checked at laboratories licensed by the ministry.
The ministry directed its inspectors to check the tyres sold in local markets and ensure that factories are complying with regulations.

Slovenia's Sava Tires Will Invest EUR 6m in Retreading
Slovenia's Dunlop Sava Tires plans to develop its retreading operations with an investment of 6 million Euros. The plant is to be launched in April 2012 and plans to employ 70 staff to ensure secure production. Production is planned to reach full capacity by 2016, meaning that Goodyear Dunlop Sava Tires would manufacture more than 100,000 retreaded tyres
per year, the company said in a press release, adding that the investment is a part of Goodyear's growth and development strategy.
Head of the production at the company, Andrew Harper, believes that the investment is an important recognition from the corporation that it would continue investing in Slovenia.
