understanding of the coming changes in the way they operate and in the markets in which they work. He also mentioned is a leading pioneer in the sector and is recognised as being the first retreader in Brazil to register with INMETRO for its truck tyres
The presentation was continued by Rócio Padilha, Manager of Tipler's Training Centre who discussed the key changes that the retread
and more retreaders would have to be offering the highest level of quality and service in retreading and will have to ensure the quality of the retread tyres meets INMETRO standards.
He also explained that Tipler retreads were manufactured to the standards set out in Tipler's manual of retreading, which defines the way tyres are processed and retreaded by all all Tipler concessionaires.
The Lanxess Rubber Day is an initiative of Lanxess, the biggest manufacturer of synthetic rubber in the world, and also Vipal’s partner as a supplier of raw material. The event took place for the second time in Cologne, Germany, and hosted 400 participants from 18 countries. Due to its huge success, Lanxess has decided to hold three more events and has chosen Brazil, China and India as venues.
This is a meeting of great leaders and executives, besides the press, who hold round table discussions on topics that can contribute to the development of synthetic rubber- based markets worldwide. As we all know, synthetic rubber is fundamental for the retread industry. The vice chairman of Vipal’s managing board, João Carlos Paulo, was among the guests for the “Sustainability of Rubber” discussion panel.
In an informative and assertive speech, João Carlos explained its concept and benefits: “The retread is one of the most environmental friendly activities available. Millions of tyres are produced daily around the whole world and retreading prevents the premature disposal of the used tyre in the environment.
Furthermore, each retread saves 57 litres of oil on average and 80 per cent of the energy related to the production of new tyres”.
During the discussion, João Carlos was asked about other actions from Vipal for sustainability in the transport sector. Besides the environmental projects, such as the capture of rainwater for industrial processes use, he highlighted the ECO tread line, which contributes for fuel economy in addition to the retreading benefits. “Without retreading, transport activity would be unviable due to the lack of tyres and cost. Moreover, with ECO treads we can retread a tyre up to three times, we save oil and energy in production and we assure lower fuel consumption. Thus, we fulfil our economical, ecological and social role. Without these three points, there is no sustainability”, said João Carlos Paludo, who was widely applauded by the audience. In this great meeting of global leaders of the segment, Vipal demonstrated its position in both the domestic and international markets as a company that aligns economical growth with sustainability and social responsibility.
