      Saspol Introduces SE-60SC Extruder
Saspol Technology srl, the Italian company best known in the retreading industry for its range of precured tread presses, has diversified into extrusion technology with the introduction of the SE-60SC pin type extruder, designed to
produce hard rubber strip for tyres, conveyor belts, cables and profiles. The position of the pins inside the rubber flow divide the rubber, modify its direction and makes the mixing of the layers easier.
Davide Dondena of Saspol was

assure high flexibility.
A single screw extruder, the SE- 60SC is characterised by a solid steel base plate, top quality gear reducer, nitride barrel liner feeding screw and two zones for water thermoregulation. The machine has been designed to
present at Autopromotec to explain the advantages of the new extruder as well as the company’s other new product, a complete system for the building and curing of solid tyres.

SD Meccanica Enters World Market with Latest Innovations
The Vulcan-Vulcap Vulcaflex® Truck and Tractor Tire Repair System with the Vulcatouch® Control System is claimed to offer the most advanced method of curing Truck and Tractor tyre section repairs on one system to the professional tyre repair man. The system uses an outside flat airbag, an outside and inside thermocouple heatpad and an inflatable cylinder airbag to accomplish distortion free repairs on radial, bias and low profile tyres. The cylinder bags are lightweight, durable and easy to position in the tyre. The system adjusts perfectly to the contour of the tyre for distortion-free repairs of radial, bias ply, low profile, wide base and skidder or tractor tyres.
Meanwhile, ratchets provide maximum tensioning with minimum force, whilst high test abrasion resistant webbing guarantees maximum strength. Independent Digital Temperature Read-Outs on the main control screen allow the operator to see both inside and outside Heatpad temperatures and amperage at a glance. Thermocouples in the pads automatically control temperatures ensuring simple, trouble free operation.
Vulcaflex tyre repair systems with Vulcatouch® controls are designed for ease of operation and maximum safety due to the programming and logic of the built in PLC. Even heat and pressure inside and out is monitored and displayed. Patch and Plug are cured at the same time. The basic Truck Tire Repair System includes a special L-shaped Heatpad that conforms to the shoulder of the tyre to be repaired. This pad is contoured for the shoulder of the
tyre thus giving long-lasting, reliable service. Vulcaflex® Heatpads are claimed by the manufacturer to be generally more rugged and last longer than those made by others. The Vulcaflex® System is relatively light and compact. As a result it can easily be moved to various different locations to perform repairs. Operation is simple, says Vulcan- Vulcap and experienced tyre repair people will produce excellent, distortion free, lasting repairs. Heinz Haischt from Vulcan-Vulcap explained the key benefits of the Vulcatouch system. “ The key point is the touchpad technology that is incorporated into this equipment”, he said. “Monitoring is much more intelligent than other machines on the market and doesn’t require as much skill and input from the operator”.
Making its entrance onto the world stage at Autopromotec was the Rovereto, Italy based equipment manufacturer SD Meccanica. Although, the company has been active in the retreading industr y for 20 years, it has spent most of its existence contract manufacturing retreading equipment for the Marangoni Group.
Attending its first ever trade exhibition, the company was introducing a full range of machinery, which included some unique patented equipment. “We can supply everything the customer needs including the layout for the monorail system”, said company director Leonardo Cappuccini. “We offer a full service package covering both precure and hot cure systems. Our main aim is to try to improve margins for the retreader.”
One of the new machines being promoted on the SD Meccanica stand was the Crater Tyre skiving
machine. This is a fully automatic skiving machine in which the skiving is carried out by robot. The operator only has to supervise the operation and carr y out the load/unload process.
Benefits of the machine include less worker turnover due to the elimination of the dirtiest and most unpleasant aspects of skiving, better quality standards, time saving, a decrease in post-production waste, increased uniformity of process and a decrease in worker injuries. Average production of the Crater Tyre Skiver is 10 tyres per hour based on a 385/65 R 22.5 tyre requiring 10 skives.
Another innovation is the Compact R 500 buffing machine, which utilises a patented milling tool that removes the majority of the tread without thermal stress for the casing. The milling cutter removes 95 per cent of the residual tread with the last 5% being carried out
by buffing blades in order to create the right buffing texture. This technology, says the company not only increases productivity and
improves worker safety but also significantly reduces electricity consumption.
