Gaither Introduces a New Generation of Bead Boosters
Range Additions from MAE
The Gaither brand has been synonymous with the ongoing growth of bead boosters in the tyre service industry and introduced the first portable automatic bead booster. Therefore it is hardly surprising that Gaither Europe has taken the initiative once again by recently launching what it considers to be the next generation of modern bead booster – the unique Gaither Bead BazookaTM.
All current Gaither bead boosters have a reputation of being highly efficient with impressive safety aspects, however like all industry bead boosters, weight has always been a problem. The new Bead BazookaTM model has broken the traditional mould of bead boosters being bulky and heavy and weighs just 5.5 kilograms as opposed to the 12.5kg weight of
the Gaither GB5A model. It is also 60 per cent smaller in size, economically priced and is claimed to offer the 'most powerful automatic rapid air release system' of any bead seating device on the market.
It is also worth noting that when compared with Gaither's standard manual booster - the GB5Z, the Bead BazookaTM provides up to 40 per cent more power. Other benefits include a push-button trigger device allowing users to keep both hands on the tank for more control therefore making the product safer than manual release tanks, a new 'slotted' double barrel that directs air towards the best overall lift action plus a convenient handle clip system for swift and easy storage to keep it from lying around the workshop area.
During the Bologna exhibition MAE announced a number of additions to its range of curing tubes, envelopes, bladders and retreading accessories.
Firstly, the company has announced the introduction of the new Ultra curing tube, designed especially for the pre- cured system. The new tube, which complements the existing MAE lines (Reinforced Type R and Super Reinforced Type S) is characterised by the fact that it is soft, light and easy to handle. It features a special heat resistant compound and is claimed to offer the lowest cost per cure.
Also new are three new extended skirt outer envelope sizes (ARC system envelopes) – these being 48 x45 (for 445/65-22.5 and related tyre sizes), 29 x25 (for 225/75–16, 225/75–15 etc.) and 27x21 (for 195/75-14 and related sizes).
Two new short skirt type outer envelope sizes (Indian Steambonder, Longmile etc) have also been introduced, these being 40x25 (for 900-20 and 9.5-20)
and 29x19 (for 600-16 and 670- 15).
In addition, two new inner envelope sizes are in preparation. A 1340x560 envelope for 24” truck tyres like 12.00-24 and 13- 24.00 is currently in production, whilst an 1180x580 envelope for 24.5” tyres will be ready in July 2011.
Meanwhile, MAE has also increased its range of curing bladders. The C76 bladder for 24” tyres to be used in Marigo, Cima and Italmatic presses is already available, whilst the M 20/6 (H 20/6) bladder for Marangoni, Cima and Marigo in tyre sizes 315/80-22.5 and 385/65-22.5 will be available in September 2011. Another new product from MAE is a new improved rubber wicking pad, which the company says will be available within the next 4 months
Last but not least the company has renewed its production of OTR curing flaps. MAE OTR curing flaps are made in strip type with a premium butyl heat resistant compound.
ITG Appoints Alev in Turkey – Open Sales Office in Bosnia
ITG Paltread Spa, based in Fusignano, Italy, has announced that it has appointed the Alev Group to distribute its retreading materials in the Turkish market. Alev is among the leading Turkish suppliers to the retreading industr y, having been featured in these pages previously. The company has switched its tread brands in recent years. Whereas the company used to supply Vipal and Ellerbrock, Alev is now focusing on ITG as well as the Mexican brand Bandamatic.
Fabio Cortesi of ITG and Ozlem Alev from the Alev Group were both present at the Autopromotec show to announce the co-operation. Meanwhile ITG has also announced that it has opened a new subsidiar y company in Citluk, Bosnia.
