TIA ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL MARVIN BOZARTH ETS TECHNICIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD
At the 2024 OTR Tyre Conference, Keith Jarman, President of the Tyre Industry Association (TIA), announced the creation of the Marvin Bozarth ETS Technician of the Year award to commemorate the con- tributions of Marvin Bozarth, a trailblazer in tyre technician training.
Jarman reflected on the origins of TIA‘s training programme, initiated over three decades ago by Bozarth, whose dedi- cation to technician education helped establish TIA‘s respected training and certification process. He highlighted Bo- zarth‘s significant impact, noting, „It is my honour to introduce the Marvin Bozarth ETS Technician of the Year award, to be presented at next year‘s conference.“
Eligibility for this prestigious award requires nominees to be TIA members who have completed the 200-Level Com- mercial Tyre Service (CTS) and Earthmo- ver Tyre Service (ETS) courses. Each TIA member company can nominate one OTR technician, with the TIA Board of Direc- tors selecting finalists and an anonymous
committee of OTR manufacturers and su- ppliers choosing the winner.
The award recipient and a guest will be honoured at the 2025 OTR Tyre Confe- rence. TIA will cover their registration, ac-
commodation, travel expenses, and taxes. Jarman concluded, „This award not only honours an exemplary technician but also celebrates Marvin Bozarth‘s enduring le- gacy in our industry.“
