 COLMEC ACQUIRES FINNISH RETREADER PENTEP OY  Swedish retreader Colmec has strength- ened its operation in Finland by strate- gically acquiring the Bandag retreader Pentep. Pentep Oy is one of the biggest inde- pendent retreaders on the Finnish mar- ket and was founded in 1992. Pentep is a Bandag producer with tyre station and end-user customers. Pentep’s very high customer focus, combined with high-quality production of retreads, has built Pentep’s super strong trade- mark in the market. “We are very happy that Teppo, Sari and their team at Pentep are now a part of Colmec. This will significantly grow our market share in Finland and align with our group master plan to be the biggest and most preferred supplier of tyres and tyre services in our markets,” says Pat- rick Sjölin, CEO of Colmec Group. “This also ensures that we can take care of all used bus and truck tyres in Finland for our customers, to make new retread tyres that positively impact the environ- ment, and are an important way forward to handle tyres sustainable”. ”Being a part of Colmec will strengthen Pentep and ensure we can grow and take the next step in the Finnish market. This will be positive for new and existing cus- tomers and our employees”, says Teppo Vekka, CEO at Pentep. With the acquisition of Pentep, Colmec will now have retreaded Bandag prod- ucts in the portfolio. “This will be a new milestone for Colmec to start interest- ing strategic cooperation with Bandag and Bridgestone,” says Patrick Sjölin. It also provides training to enhance retreading services.
