BEST TREAD RUBBER SUPPLIER BEST RETREADING EQUIPMENT SUPPLIER BEST RETREADING ACCESSORY & CONSUMABLES SUPPLIER Frederico Schmidt, General Manager – Europe VIPAL SCOOP THREE KEY SUPPLIER AWARDS Gilson Dugno, International Sales Manager The big winners at this year’s Recircle Awards were Brazilian tread rubber manu- facturer Vipal, who took home three of the main supplier awards, namely Best Tread Rubber Supplier, Best Retreading Equip- ment Supplier, and Best Retreading Acces- sory and Consumables supplier, thus com- pleting a trinity of awards covering the three main areas of activity the Vipal are active in, these being tread rubber, retreading equip- ment itself an area where the company has achieved significant growth, and retreading accessories including the company’s establi- shed tyre repair line. The awards were picked up at the Awards Ceremony by Gilson Dugno, International Sales Manager, and Frederico Schmidt, Ge- neral Manager – Europe. Vipal’s success, which came following a pro-active campaign to encourage support from their network of supporters inclu- ding customers from around the world was seen by the company as a validation of their efforts to be in tune with the needs and ex- pectations of partners, contributing to bu- siness growth and ensuring personalised deliveries. The Recircle Awards success came off the back of additional success in other awards events around the world. For example, the company also gained prominence in the 2023 Fleet & Service Award promoted by the Automotive magazine, from Portugal, in the Environment category. This recognition was aimed at companies, entities, products, services and professionals for the excellence and merit of their activities in the areas of Fleets, After-Sales, Heavy Duty, Industrial Machinery and the Environment. “Vipal Borrachas deserves to be nominated for all the structure it has today,” read one of the company’s nominations. “There are 4 manufacturing units, 19,000 tons per month of capacity and 2,500 employees. It has the largest and best line of products for retrea- ding tyres of all types, including agricultural, off-road and touring. In addition to being the leader in cargo tyre retreading in Latin America. It has one of the largest Research and Technology Centres in the industry and is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023, always adding a lot of value and experience to its operations and products.” For Fabricio Nedeff, who himself won the Employee of the Year Award, Vipal’s awards success reinforces the fact that the company is on the right path, being recognised by cus- tomers and positively impacting them. “The retreaded tyre, in itself, is an important part of the circular economy and represents be- nefits to the environment. Combined with our initiatives in the manufacturing process, such as effluent treatment, research into raw materials from renewable sources and reuse and recycling of materials, we were able to deliver even more,” he commented.
