CONTINENTAL
The Germany-based new tyre manufacturer has been nominated for the company’s ContiLifeCycle retreading facility in Hanover, Germany and for its commitment to sustainable retreading via the company’s ContiLifeCycle Concept.
INSA TURBO
Insa Turbo, based in Aspe near Alicante, is Spain’s largest largest retreader, with a capacity of more than 500,000 passenger, truck, agricultural and OTR retreads per annum. With a history dating back to 1988, the company is still a family-owned business and operates from modern facilities strategically located across Spain as well as exporting the Insa Turbo brand internationally.
MARANGONI
Marangoni’s retread plant in Rovereto is the historic market leader in Italy. The company, which is a major producer of truck bus and OTR tyres under the Marix brand name, also provides an integrated fleet management system under the name Fleet Advantage. The Marangoni Group has 70 years of experience in the retreading sector.
UNIGOMA
Independent Argentinian retreader Unigoma is a tyre retreading company with 90 years of history in the field. It currently represents Vipal using its materials, it has certification of
the industrial plant by INTI (National Institute of Industrial Technology) and is the only certified B company from Argentina in the field. The owner, Esteban Rappazzo has been at the forefront of retreading in Latin America for several years and has earned the right to stand alongside the much larger European retreaders on this shortlist.
VACULUG
Vaculug, the UK’s largest independent retreader, has continued to reinvent itself during the last couple of years. At the end of 2021 the company became the first independent retreader to publish
its own sustainability report, and most recently announced it had become the first retreader to raise sustainable financing. The restructuring of the company’s management team has continued apace during this year including the appointment of a new External Sustainability Officer.
