RUSSIAN GAS MONOPOLY STARTS USING RETREADED
TYRES IN JET FUELING BUSINESS
In the wake of turmoil in the Russian tyre disclosed it started using retreaded tyres on aircraft fuelers.
The company claimed it successfully test- ed the technology at the Sheremetye- vo International Airport in April 2022. Switching to the retreaded tyres allowed the company to increase the service life of tyres and reduce the environmental impact of their replacement and disposal, - ny utilising retreaded tyres in the jet fue- ling business in Russia.
The company has not provided any ad- ditional details about the used tyre re- treading technology, only mentioning that it helps “increase load capacity and heat
resistance.” Doubling the tread height improves traction and the smoothness of aircraft fuelers. Tyre retreading technolo- gy has passed all necessary tests and fully matches the Russian technical standards,”
planned to scale up the project and begin using retreaded tyres in 60 Russian air- ports where it operates.
