RUBBERISED ASPHALT AWARD
One of the new award sectors introdu- ced this year was the Rubberised Asphalt Award which is awarded in recognition of a particularly noteworthy contribution to the rubberised asphalt sector, thereby also validating the importance of this market to tyre recycling in general.
There were a variety of nominees ranging from big industrial companies like Tarmac, - cling agencies like Calrecycle. However, the eventual winner was the Indian company, Tinna Rubber, which has rapidly expanded as a fully integrated company converting waste tyres into downstream value-added products. The company is one of the largest recyclers of end-of-life-tyres in India and a leader in the rubberised asphalt sector in that country.
