ARNEC’S ROLE AS A SUPPORT MECHANISM
Now, if we recognise that trade associations play a crucial strategic role in the industries and sectors they represent and, ARNEC repre- sents a vital support to the development of the country. Our com- mitment is clear and precise: to represent the voice in Chile of a de- cisive sector for a new world through extending the use of a priority product for cargo and passenger transportation. The world is moving and renovating itself at the same time!
It is in these new times, where we need to realise that our world is being massively disturbed and the environmental damage is visible to the naked eye as well as in the forests and oceans, with vast defo- - tant thing is to recognise that here we also have a juncture: society does not react unless there is a reason that summons it and where the starting point may be precisely what we are experiencing. The
only desire change, but also to design and drive it. The commitment to the environment in the current situation is compulsive, as we have experienced it in our industry. This is how we have been vigorously approaching the new generations and this is also how we promote the market and help the authorities to evolve as the circular eco- nomy shows. This circular economy is full of challenging and promi- sing answers for the new times ahead.
OPPORTUNITIES TO TRANSFORM THE PLANET
It is at this precise moment, an expectant and uncertain present, whe- re both work itself and social coexistence have become new worlds to explore, where opportunities arise to transform and promote our country and the world. This has been the case with our work, whe- re we are focused on developing, together with tyre importers, the Government and other industry key players, the early landing of the REP Chilean Law with the accounting of retreaded tyres as complian- ce with the valorisation targets. At the same time, we are working to promote avoidance of single-use tyre law (making a similarity with the recently enacted law on avoidance of single-use plastics); and to promote public procurement with a focus on the circular economy. It is no longer enough just to talk about the environmental, safety and capable of promoting, using the visions, and determining themes of these times (such as Climate Change, Sustainability, Circular Eco- nomy, Right to Repair, among others), new public policies that allow us to recognise that tyre retreading and renovation was, is and will be an essential part of our world.
The challenge that the circular economy brings within the current context offers us the real possibility of making transparent with generosity and respect the challenge of empowering citizens, ma- king them responsible for the products they produce, purchase, and consume, to achieve a more viable world, a world with a safe future through a constant renovation.
