The Covid-19 pandemic has brought some uncertainty to the retreading industry in Italy, but the coming years are not expected to be easier, according to Vito Scaringella, owner of the Italian tyre retreader Corgom.

As explained by Corgom, the Covid- 19 pandemic has not brought major disruptions to the supply chain, even though the business had to face some difficulties.

Up to 50% of tyre retreaders shut down their business in Italy during the previous several years due to an inflow of cheap Asian tyres. Things have got better in the past few years, thanks to the anti-dumping duties introduced by the European Commission.
"The truck tyre retreading market experienced a severe negative influence of new tyres from Asian markets, especially China. The low-

All our products are certified in accordance with the ECE 109 homologation regulations, which regulate the production process and ensure strict control over all the production phases," the company said.
"We focus and follow up the entire
process aimed at improving effectiveness, among other things. "Last year we carried out a revamping of the production plant which allowed us to increase the production capacity. A further revamping of the plant is expected in the coming months to adjust and improve the production cycle. We have also increased our presence in all the Italian territories with new sales agents and new vehicles used to improve logistics," Scaringella added.
Corgom nowadays uses leading suppliers of retreading material in the world market, including Vipal Rubber. "Vipal has always offered a wide choice of products and
