ITRS Achieve Over $7M in Cash Flow Savings for Mining Company
Vulkan Daek to Relocate to New HQ
ITRS has announced that a tyre repair project carried out by the company on behalf of an international gold mine has managed to achieve over 7M in cash flow savings as a result of ITRS’s Tire Repair Training Services & Certification Programme.
This, says the company, is in perfect alignment with ITRS’s mission to train the next generation of tyre repair technicians and give injured tyres a second, third and maybe even fourth life cycle, therefore contributing to a greener and more ecological environment.
“We want to do our part and we feel a certain level of pride when we see guys finish their certification and hold their
their new senior management team, the rebranding of the company logo to better reflect their mission and vision, and the launch of new website that matches their new approach. “It feels like everything I’ve been working to build over the past years is now coming together with such ease,” said Wauthy. “The team is stronger than ever, our vision clearer than ever and we’re excited to continue assisting the world with its tyre repair needs.” International Tire Repair Solutions has been in operation since 2007 and was acquired by Gilles Wauthy in 2012. He later welcomed his partners, David Dandeneault, Gabriel Boutet, and Jean-Félix Lavallée, and today, they focus on
The retread sector in Denmark has been under what might be called ultimate rationalisation for some years. The industry reduced to just three retreaders, one of which is the independent Vulkan Daek in Randers. Vulkan Daek is owned by the Nielsen family and has grown from a small workshop focusing on Marangoni Ringtread to a somewhat larger concern.
When Retreading Business last visited Vulkan Daek, the small
Wardinghus Nielsen 26 years old become a co-owner in Vulkan Daek. He started at Vulkan Daek back in June 2016 and has been through all the production processes so understand the processes and can step in at any stage if required.

certificates proudly in their hands,” explained Gilles Wauthy, ITRS’s Chairman of the Board. “For some, this is the first time they’ve ever earned a diploma. It really gives them a sense of pride and accomplishment, and they take this with them to work each day. They take great pride in what they do and the role they play in creating a greener tomorrow.”
This news comes in the wake of the company’s many recent initiatives and accomplishments, including
the development of the newly revamped and improved training and certification programme, the onboarding of
growing the training centre and certification programme that’s available worldwide. They have created a veritable one-stop- shop destination where they manage absolutely all learning and certification needs as well as offering anything and
ever ything customers need for tyre repairs, section repair, retreading, etc. Over the years, they have acquired a specialisation within the mining sector and have developed products specifically adapted to their oversized reality and specificity. They also offer a range of high-quality parts, tools, and equipment at competitive prices.
workshop had grown, and apart from a small supermarket, the business owned all of one side of the street. At the time still focusing on Ringtread.
In the last quarter of 2019, just before Covid hit the world, Vulkan Daek bought a tyre shop with a small warehouse in Ängelholm, Sweden, with plans to expand its already strong sales in the Swedish and Norwegian markets. Henrik Nielsen reports that due to Covid the expansion of the Swedish operation employing seven staff has been delayed, but as the world comes out of the pandemic Nielsen expects to see further growth in that Scandinavian sector. He says; “The last year in Sweden has been difficult for us, we have not been able to expand the sales, Covid19 has not made it easy for me to go to Sweden to grow the business.”
At the start of 2020, Vulkan Daek signed a five-year contract to supply RECAMIC retreads to Euromaster Denmark. Production for Euromaster started in September 2020 in the midst of the crisis.

of 55,000 retreads per annum. The new plant will be located to the South of Randers and will replace the current mismatch of yard and buildings that have been the home of the company for many decades.
Nielsen expects the current workforce of 21 to grow as the new plant opens up. However, he is keen to say that although the company is being the biggest in Denmark, that is not so important to the company. Size alone is not the goal for Vulkan Daek. Nielsen says; “We have all of our focus on retreading. This is the only product we have for sale. We believe in focus on the production, focus on sales and focus on service, this we believe is the course of the success we have today in Denmark. We are optimistic for the future, I am sure there will be much more focus on retreading as a matter of course for the environmental benefits, and less use of raw materials.
“As an independent retreader, we are able to co-operate with more or less everyone who is looking for a quality provider of retread services.”
