focusing on the European market and this is not likely to change in the foreseeable future, according to Mayrhofer. “We still believe there are a lot of possibilities and opportunities for us on the
European market. We do not have intentions to grow internationally,” he added.
   Product side
“In 2016 we made the decision to produce our own designs using Kraiburg’s knowledge and know-how, so we produce our own designs for the market now, particularly pre-cured materials. Our R&D department is working on the combination of the designs and compounds. We produce what is in demand on the market, and now these are products with lower rolling resistance”, Priewasser said. “We do any measurements and can say to our customers that what we offer is a product with reduced fuel consumption. Additionally, there is a safety angle, with wet grip and snow tyres. Also, the noise conditions are something which we take into consideration during our product development. This is especially important for bus tyres,” Priewasser said.
“We have three product lines: K_Base, K_Tech and K_Plus. K_Base is, let us say, the standard line for all applications, including for mixed application road and off road together, and there is also a standard application on the trailer side. Then we have K_Tech - this is a technological line adjusted for winter conditions and for trailer tyres because we have a reduced heat build-up in the compound. And finally, we have K_Plus, which is our high-quality product with enormous mileage and which also incorporates the highest level of R&D work,” he added. According to Priewasser, Kraiburg has several brand-new products in its portfolio. For example, one of the recent developments is K 702 plus – city bus tyres with high traction properties. Among other qualities, the tyre is characterised by its low noise development thanks to an
adapted irregular tread design plus cool running due to optimally adapted tread compound.
