      Mayoral Visit for Unigoma
Unigoma, the Argentinian retreader, recently received a visit from Lucas Ghi, the mayor of Morón, the town where the company is located, who promised to “continue to co- operate with local SME’s to strengthen the development and growth of the local economy.” Ghi was shown round the Unigoma plant by Esteban Rappazzo, the head of the firm, and his son, Santiago Rappazzo, and was able to view at first hand the investments made by Unigoma to improve its processes and increase production capacity.
“I get a very positive impression,” said Ghi. “This is a factory with a huge trajectory, a synonym for Morón. I had not had the opportunity
to visit it before and
learn about about
the company’s
production
processes, its
connections and
even its
certifications, which
show the high-
quality standards to
which Unigoma is
managed.”
In return, Esteban
Rappazzo
commented: “I am more than grateful and excited for the visit of Lucas Ghi and his entire team to Unigoma. My wish is that we can continue doing things together, municipality and private activity, because I think it is the way to go. I hope that together we can find solutions to the social and labour problems that Argentina has today.” Unigoma currently has a production capacity of 150 tyres per day and employs 28 people. Recent investments include a Smart Duo buffer and a builder/extruder from Vipal as well as six new skiving stations and a new 15-tyre monorail system.
