Vipal Rubber Goes
Marangoni RINGTREAD network member Edler Reifen recently celebrated the opening of a new branch in Vienna, holding a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony for around 200 guests at the new location on Schillingstraße in the Austrian capital.
The new site features state-of- the-art equipment and extends over 3,000 square metres, with storage capacity for 1,800 truck tyres and 25,000 passenger tyres. At the entrance, a RINGTREAD stand and a Marangoni roll-up display welcome the customers,
ease of production made possible by Marangoni’s leading-edge cold retreading technology. Most of all, our customers are experiencing a more reliable and top-quality product,” says Edler. “The use of premium retreaded tyres lowers significantly the operating costs of the fleets and also helps to protect the environment,” he added. Speaking on the occasion, Christian Asmuth, Sales Manager at Marangoni Retreading Systems Deutschland, said: “Our globally proven retreading system, combined with Edler Reifen’s

access to the paddock frenzy and the pit lane of the Barcelona- Catalunya circuit, one of the most traditional in Europe and which has been hosting Formula 1 races since 1991.
“Following our tradition of being close with our partners, we decided to provide this party moment to strengthen the relationship with our customers,” explained Leandro Rigon, Director of International Business at Vipal
Rubber. The partnership with Urrutia and the RT Audi Team yielded positive results, as their work was successful on the tracks: while the driver finished third, the team got second place in the team championship. In addition to the thrills of the race, Vipal Rubber’s customer group could also enjoy the weekend in the capital of Catalonia, one of Europe’s most cosmopolitan and bustling cities.

During the inauguration event, the strong relationship between the two companies was further emphasised when the latest Edler Reifen corporate movie, including footage of a Marangoni RingTreader 2500, was shown to the guests. This building machine was installed in the 11,111 square metre plant inaugurated by Edler Reifen at thecend of June 2018, soon after the beginning of the cooperation between the Austrian company and Marangoni. The
RINGTREAD System is now used for the largest part of Reifen Edler’s cold truck and bus retreading production, and the volumes continue to increase. Edler Reifen is a family-run business founded in 1929, and which has been retreading truck tyres since 1961. Robert Edler took over the company management in 2018.
“Since the introduction of RINGTREAD, we’ve been really satisfied with the efficiency and
experience and customer- oriented service ensures the best quality solution for Austrian transportation fleets. In particular, their customers especially appreciate RINGTREAD patterns such as the BUS400, MIX101 and the Blackline RDR HM3.”
Among others, Edler Reifen proudly serves ÖBB-Postbus, the Austrian Federal Railways sister company and their large fleet with more than 2,200 buses, transporting hundreds of millions of passengers each year. ÖBB makes the most out of RINGTREAD RM+SK, a 3PMSF marked - studdable regional drive pattern developed by Marangoni for the most severe winter conditions.
In order to meet the needs of exhibitors and visitors, with effect from 2021 the organisers of Autopromotec have decided to reduce the duration of the event from 5 to 4 days with the show running from Wednesday to Saturday, as well as making some changes to the content of meetings and conferences during the fair. The decision to change the format after so many years came as a result of a survey conducted among exhibitors and visitors who participated in recent editions.
For the overwhelming majority of respondents, limiting the number of days to four was considered to make it possible to intensify business meetings and at the same time optimise companies' resources and investments. As for content, more than half of the respondents identified the
development of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, big data and nanotechnology as the trends on which the future of the automotive sector and its supply chain will be played out.
"A trade show is not just numbers but also comments and opinions of those who participate", explained Renzo Servadei, CEO of Autopromotec. That is why we decided to contact exhibitors and visitors to gather suggestions for improvements in content and format for the next edition. The technological revolution we are witnessing in our sector is driving us to change, and at Autopromotec we must be the first to adapt. To paraphrase a great scientist: It is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change".
