designed the Bandag BLSS retread to deliver powerful grip and high traction, along with a reliable performance, no matter the application to help ensure fleets are getting the most out of their valuable tyre assets.”
Key features of the Bandag BLSS retread are: a deep tread of 32/32” to provide more volume for longer wear, stone rejection technology for added durability; and a specialised compound to decrease chipping and cutting in tough conditions.

KRAIBURG Extends Product Line with New Widths
Kraiburg Austria has announced extensions to its product range for its K225, K718 and K818 tread patterns.
K225 has been in successful use for many years now – in both the K_base and K_plus blend versions. The heavily siped block-type retread with open shoulders offers good self-cooling and optimum transfer of tractive forces on winter road surfaces. This design is now available in a width of 240 millimetres.
According to Kraiburg, another top seller this year has proved to be the traction retread K718 presented at “The Tire Cologne” trade fair. The long-distance pattern used to be
available in widths of just 260 and 270 millimetres but from the middle of December, it can also be ordered in the width 280 millimetres. The K718 brings top performance in combination with the new trailer design K818.
There will also be a new width in the K_tech and K_plus versions to complete this product line from January 2019: the 380-millimetre version will be added to the 305 and 320-millimetre dimensions. All three Kraiburg patterns are ideal all- season tyres with good winter properties – and guarantee durability, economic efficiency and safety.
informed. In order to further promote its retreading business among the cargo carriers, Kama has recently launched a new service – an online tool on the company’s website, where the customers could estimate the money savings they could gain from tyre retreading.
The final figure depends on numerous different parameters, including the size of the fleet, the average mileage one truck covers per
the result, the overall mileage of Kama tyres under proper use was increased from around 450,000 km to nearly 700,000 km. The company also conducted field trials of its retreaded tyres which showed that the technical parameters of the tyres retreaded on Kama casings basically were the same as compared to new tyres, including in terms of road adherence and the fuel consumption rate.

More Pre-Q Treads
Kama Retread, retreading division of Kama tyres, sold 500 tyres to the customers in the first quarter of 2018, Andrey Buton, deputy marketing director of the company has unveiled. This is the first time that Kama has disclosed the actual operational performance of its retreading business.
Since the launching the retreading plant in 2015 Kama Retread has produced 6,600 retreaded tyres in total, maintaining the output at slightly above 2,000 tyres per year. This makes Kama’s retreading plant one of the biggest facilities of its kind in Russia, the company stressed in the statement.
Still, the Kama Retread plant operates at a rather low occupancy rate. As it was earlier reported the designed capacity of the plant with the production line by Marangoni is around 36,000 tyres per year. Kama
reportedly was initially planning to reach that figure in 2017.
By retreading their tyres in Russia, customers could save up to 40 per cent from the price they would pay for a new tyre, the company said in the statement. Although, originally Kama Retread was established to retread tyres under Kama’s brands, the plant is now also accepting casings of other brands, the company informed.
In 2017 Kama Tyres produced 13 million tyres, the highest figures ever, Buton said. By 2024 the company expects to boost this further to 16 million tyres, by expanding its range through introducing new premium class tyres, which under the proper operation could be retreaded twice. No details were given on whether the increase in overall production would lead to any increase in the production at the retreading plant.
In an ongoing effort to offer high quality products and meet the needs of the retreading market and their customers, Galgo have expanded their Three-Peak Mountain Snow Flake (3PMSF) certified product line, to include a total of 17 tread designs ideal for all applications. The company has received a rating of “excellent” for grip or traction for three additional tread designs which include: Winter Mileage Performance (WMP), Key On Performance (KOP) and Low Profile Drive (LPD).
These three treads, which are
branded on the side with the official 3PMSF symbol, are specially designed to run under extreme conditions, such as ice and snow covered roads.
