Annual Cocktail the Launchpad for New ABR Website

On 13 December the Brazilian Retreaders Association ABR, together with ARESP, ARVIP and ASSOBAN celebrated its traditional end-of-year Cocktail event at the Novotel Center Norte in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The event was well attended by retreaders and suppliers to the retread market from across the Brazilian retreading sector, and Retreading Business was grateful to have the opportunity to attend the event.
The Association used the event as an opportunity to announce the launch of its new website, which is available in Portuguese and English, and which includes comprehensive information on the structure of the ABR in addition to valuable segment data, a
regularly updated news channel, video links, image gallery and a link to the digital version of the Association’s quarterly magazine, Pnews.
The new website can be viewed at www.abr.org.br.
During the cocktail event the presidents of the various trade associations present commented on the state of the market in Brazil
Aristeu Bruscagin Junior, President of ASSOBAN said; "Our expectation is that the economy will resume growth and, consequently, our industry will experience a similar progress. Despite all the difficulties, 2018 has already been a better year than the previous ones, and the expectation is for an even better
year. "
Francisco Esoron, President of ARVIP added; "One of the tasks that Brazilians have had to accomplish this year, in order for the market to evolve in 2019, was to make a clean policy, and we have achieved this with success. We have debugged politics, with good and fair people and good manners attaining a position that the whole market desire: a resounding "no" to corruption. And this posture will certainly provide everyone in our market with a splendid year. We know how to work, and if the government does not interfere like

Retreading Quota Included in Chilean ERP Law
The Chilean retreading industry has announced a significant success achieved at the end of October with the news of the publication of the first Tyre Retreading Goal for the Chilean Market in the context of the Tyre Regulation Document that organises the management of End-of-Life Tyres in the first Chilean ERP Law.
After tireless work by the Chilean Retreaders Association,
ARNEC, Chilean law now stipulates that tyre importers and producers have the responsibility to collect 50% of tyres imported into the country. Of these, 25% have to be submitted for valorisation and from this figure 60% have to be retreaded. According to ARNEC, this goal is progressive and by 2026 the valorisation goal will have risen to 90%.

Vacu-Lug Visits Vipal Rubber Facilities in Brazil
Vipal Rubber recently opened the doors of one of its Brazilian plants to UK retreader Vacu-Lug, providing the opportunity to get a close look at the procedures and structure of the Latin American tyre retreading leader. The activity took place in October at Vipal’s Nova Prata facility in southern
Brazil, and was promoted by Univipal, the company’s corporate university.
