                The Tire Cologne – Product Review Sessions at the Tyre Recycling Forum
The first edition of The Tire Cologne provided a significant opportunity for Retreading Business in that, together with our sister magazine, Tyre & Rubber Recycling, we were offered the opportunity to organise and host the first Tyre Recycling Forum on a specially prepared 400 sq m stand featuring a seminar area, product displays and a comprehensive series of story boards explaining the process of
however, we decided to give exhibitors from the retreading industry the opportunity to present their company and their latest products in a series of ten- minute presentations, a format, which we intend to repeat at future shows.
Ten companies took up the opportunity to make presentations.
First up was Akar Makina, who presented the key features of their
from Cima Impianti introduced the audience to the Italian company’s full range of retreading equipment and accessories, whilst Vipal’s Frederico Schmidt focused on his company’s Eco-Friendly product ranges, namely the benefits of the company’s ECO Treads as well as Vulk Acqua Solution and Vulk Tyre Paint.
Also speaking during the first of the two sessions was Coen Heukshorst from VMI who
buffing and building equipment. Meanwhile, Hugo Sandberg from Robbins introduced the Robbins Accu-Fit Sealing Ring system, whilst TRM’s Emanuela Zappa and Bandamatic’s Heriberto Romero presented corporate profiles of their respective companies.

the Tyre Recycling Chain, all the way from used tyre to recycled end-product. The aim was to provide a forum for the recycling sector to interact with the tyre distribution and retreading industries in a way that had never been achieved by the Reifen show that had gone before it.
The first three days of the show consisted of a series of seminars on various aspects of tyre recycling. On the final day,
AKR 550 Cushion Gum Extruder/Builder, which is aimed at medium and larger sized retreaders, and which offers amortisation within a year in a typical retreading shop producing 800-1000 tyres per month.
The second presentation was by Andreas Mueller from B&J Rocket, who presented the benefits of their Airbot and Unit Wheel Air grinding tools. Meanwhile, Alessandro Vignolini
introduced VMI’s range of retreading equipment, whilst Francisco Ibarzabal from Galgo elected to introduce his company by showing us his company’s corporate video.
The second session in the afternoon featured four further companies, Lukatec, Robbins, TRM and
Bandamatic (Hules Banda). Lukatec were appearing from the first time at a key European tyre show, and Lucas Moeller was able to present his company’s modular concept for his range of retreading machinery, mainly
