    THE TIRE
Hall 9 dedicated to retreading and recycling will have opportunities for retreaders to develop, grow, make cost savings and through the recycling element of the show and explore the possibilities of diversification into recycling. It should be noted that retreaders produce tyre buffings as a by-product that tyre recyclers have to invest in at least hundreds of thousands of Euros to achieve. Retreading by- products have a value in the tyre recycling market. The Tire offers an opportunity to learn more about the recycling sector.
The retread and recycling exhibits will be supported by a series of recycling seminars across the first three days of the show covering subjects as diverse as the tyre industry market trends, recycling trends with speakers from the ETRMA, Ecopneus and the UK’s TRA. There is a discussion on a real- life market development featuring two of Europe’s key suppliers of recycling equipment. The seminars also look wider and a discussion on global market trends will have speakers from Chile’s ARNEC, plus specialist commentary on the China market and an outline of the latest developments in Australia is also expected.
The technologies and challenges for the industry are not ignores and visitors will hear from Enviro about how they have approached the recovered Carbon Black market successfully and a speaker from ARTIS will present on the latest technological developments and opportunities for the future.
Needless to say, the issue of Crumb Rubber infill cannot go ignored, so there is a panel planned to cover this subject and enlighten visitors to the realities of the matter.
Further seminars will discuss future challenges, opportunities and the latest rubber recycling technologies.
The Tire is, for the first time in the tyre industry, offering recyclers an opportunity to come together at the largest gathering of tyre specialists in Europe, to listen to and talk with industry experts throughout the seminars. It also provides a catalyst where recyclers can go to the manufacturers at their own stand and speak to their own technical
people about rubber technologies, and how the recyclers and industry can work closer together.
This hopefully goes some way towards addressing the demands from recyclers to get closer to the tyre manufacturers. Here is the opportunity to make that happen. Here perhaps is an opportunity for the recycling sector to come together and perhaps sow the seeds of a new recycling body that they have talked about for so long. The ball is in the hands of the recyclers.
Cologne is famed for its restaurants, museums and shopping making it an ideal venue for an extended visit whilst at The Tire
