                              Tipler Undergoes Rebranding Exercise
the extremely busy halls was astonishing, both for vehicles and for components and services. The forecast for sales growth in 2018 in the major truck manufacturers in Brazil fluctuates between 10 and 20 per cent, a clear sign of the optimism of the companies in relation to the recovery of the market. Against this background, there were almost thirty exhibitors at the fair who were offering digital solutions for fleet management.
Sascar is one such company. With eighteen years of market experience and incorporated by Michelin in
life cycle: “Obviously, when you talk about fleet management solutions, the tyre is one of the main items in the balance of cost reduction. Michelin, for example, has always stressed the importance of casing care. Offering a fleet management service that optimises the life and cost of the casing is at the very heart of its raison d’être”. The commercial director explains how it works in practice: “An example is our TPMS system, which puts a sensor inside the tyre to monitor temperature and pressure, thereby alerting the driver to premature wear or sudden loss of
pressure. In addition to avoiding accidents, there is an obvious improvement in the management of this tyre, which will both extend tyre life and allow a greater number of retreads”.
Using virtual reality truck driving simulators as an attraction, the booth captured the attention of curious passers-by. Chaves believes that every visitor who enters to explore the attractions is a potential client: “The customer comes here to find out what is happening, and then
realises that there is something new around. We have so many innovations that the idea for the coming months is to focus on consolidating them in the
market”. And then, where will the market go? Chaves responds: “Today we talk about management and connectivity, but natural evolutions such as autonomous vehicles and new forms of energy to supply them are certainly on the radar of the group”. Reading the clear signs of the economic rebalancing of the country at the fair, we can diagnose that the national market is beginning to give indications of wanting to go beyond the basic level. The modernisation of fleets will become a key trend and the expectation is that the demand for technology will directly benefit the retreading market.
Retreading Business

Roberto Farina,
Tipler's new business
manager, about the
company's recent
brand renewal
process. Starting with
the logo, Farina
explains that the
company has gone
through an "evolution,
not just a change. We
did not have a
concept of
communication, or
even a slogan, but,
working with the
brand, we started to
adopt one, and then
released a manifesto
film on our network."
The company then
decided to coordinate
efforts around
engaging in social networks. "You go further, the world too", the concept chosen, also names the audiovisual piece that accompanies the new marketing strategy and is available both on the site and on social networks. In a normally homogenised market such as tyre retreading, renovation cannot be just aesthetic. By analysing the demands of the market, Tipler has optimised its product range into so-called “concept lines”. The Ultra range now has thirteen designs and has undergone changes in the compound of the treads to increase mileage performance. Recognised for its characteristic "orange stripes", the line maintains its leading role within Tipler's portfolio.
The Eco + line has also gained treads with the incorporation of a differentiated rubber compound, aimed at reducing rolling resistance. The range focuses on sustainability and economy.
The Forte range, new in the portfolio, brings together treads for the mixed segment and off- road and offers increased resistance to spikes, lacerations and pullouts. The range’s resistance to hard work makes it suitable for applications in construction sites and in the sugar industry, for example.
To consolidate the company's new strategy, the TipTread sub- brand has also been launched, which appears as a second Tipler line. It was developed to be a competitive alternative for the entry segment, betting on lighter treads and lower costs, whilst attending all the main applications of the transport segment. "Our goal is to offer complete product options for a highly competitive market. There is a concept of sustainability linked to this, our products provide a win for the whole of society - the world goes even further, "argues Farina.

2014, its service is summarised by Pedro Chaves as a connectivity platform for the delivery of solutions with global aspirations, with initiatives also in France, Mexico, Argentina, and in the near future in other countries from Asia to Latin America. Through software, embedded technology and the internet, services like this provide hauliers with tools for accident prevention, cost reduction, increased punctuality and productivity, protection and the tracking of cargo and vehicles, but not only this. Chaves also comments on the importance of the system to the tyre

Sharing knowledge that it has gained over more than 45 years is a key tool for Vipal. In January 2018 the Brazilian retread and tyre repair specialist offered a training session on agricultural tyres to ATZ Pneus, from Cambé - PR. The event
