The company used to source rubber from a local tread manufacturer but two months back put up a complete tread making unit by investing INR 40 Lakh by installing a kneader, mixing mill, extruder, calendar, cooling drum line and a complete laboratory. “Currently, we feed only our own retreading operation, but in the future, we are open to supplying in the open market,” said Gupta.
Gupta initially plans to target state transport companies that have their own retreading plant but sourcing retread from outside.
However, state transport companies are regarded as a highly price sensitive segment. “We are aware of their price sensitivity and we know how to handle them on price points,” he quipped.
The company will expand plant capacity by another 25 tonnes in the next six months to cater to the state transport companies. “We will first target the Haryana state transport company followed by the other states in Northern India,” he said.

Marigo has recently also launched a power press at a ver y competitive price. “We have launched a power press for conventional retreading for the price sensitive market, incorporating features of our premium range but which consumes less power.” The price difference compared to the top model is about 30 per cent.
He further stressed, “We also have a range of precure retreading products at Indian prices with Italian quality.”
Commenting on the potential of
the Indian market, he stated, “This market has become interesting for us as radials are increasing their share in the Indian market. We strongly believe it has potential to grow at a much faster pace in the next few years.” The company says it can supply equipment to Indian specifications.
Marigo manufactures an extensive range of equipment including presses, moulds, bead plates, and inspection spreaders from motorcycle to OTR tyres.
