competitor model, in a test conducted on paved roads in the city of Puglianello, Italy. The participating fleet achieved 8% better mileage with the Vipal product.
Within this same concept, Vipal has been producing the Vipal ECO tread line since 2009, and some of these designs were also be on display at Autopromotec. The result of years of investment and research, the line features special high-tech rubber compounds and a tread design configuration, which is focused on better fuel economy.
Vipal Rubber also took its full
assortment of repair products to Bologna. One of these is the Aramid Patch (RA), extremely impact- resistant and at the same time lighter and more flexible than traditional patches, improving application and appearance in the repaired area. The Vipal RA Patch is made with aramid fibre, a reinforced textile used in bullet-proof vests and seatbelts, among other extremely resistant products. This material is five times more resistant than steel, which guarantees less interference in tyre balance.
Marigo Joins Loose Ends
Italian equipment manufacturer Marigo, has a long tradition of creating quality machinery for the tyre and retreading sector. The company has, until now, taken a low profile rather than go all out to create a name for itself.
However, 2017 sees the company change tack and it is now looking to highlight its brand and its equipment to enable it to compete with other players in the market.
The Marigo stand at Autopromotec carried one piece of equipment, it
looked unfamiliar, and it was. This new tread splicing machine has been created in partnership with a leading player in retreading. It allows cut ends and the good parts of damaged treads to be spliced together to minimise scrap.
It is stating the obvious that it potentially has the use of creating circular treads from accurately cut tread lengths. However, Marigo played down that option and focused on the tread saving potential instead.
Eversafe Becomes Zeiss Distributor
At Autopromotec, Bologna, shearography specialists Zeiss agreed that Malaysian retread and rubber specialist Eversafe would become the sales distributor for Zeiss shearography in South East
Asia. Speaking for Zeiss, Mario Goldmann said that this would open up the South East Asian market for Zeiss. The deal covers all of South East Asia except China and Korea.
Dobermann Europe
at Autopromotec 2017
Autopromotec 2017 was an excellent opportunity for Dobermann to present in a world premiere the extension of its retreading line with new and exclusive contours by DoberDesign.
The release of the new contours, which is expected to happen in the
axles.
During Autopromotec, Dobermann was able to meet with its current and potential customers, and analyse the specific features and advantages of each contour with them. In this way, the company had the chance to get to know the high level of satisfaction
Vipal’s High-Tech Presence at Autopromotec
At Autopromotec one of the key features on the Vipal stand was the company’s range of treads verified by the European Alpine Symbol, which attests to their performance in severe snow conditions.
One of the highlights was the recently launched VT220 tread.
Made from a special, high-tech compound and able to withstand low temperatures, the VT220 is recommended for radial tyres, medium and long-distance hauls, in snowy or muddy conditions. The tread’s design allows optimal performance on wet or muddy surfaces due to the transverse grooves that give greater stability to the blocks and excellent traction power. Two other Vipal treads, the VT160 and the VDA4, also certified with the Alpine Symbol, meet the same necessary requirements for driving in severe snow conditions. The quality and performance of Vipal brand treads, already proven in different markets around the world, was also on display at Autopromotec. Such is the case of the VRT3, DV-UM3 and VT110 designs, which also delivered good results in tests conducted in several European fleets. For instance, the VRT3 showed superior performance when compared with a similar
second half of this year, includes 7 new precured treads: three for use on drive axles specially designed for vehicles operating in medium and long-service applications; one “on-off road” pattern belonging to the MIX series, and one “all position” design with variable depths (14 and 18 mm). Moreover, the first two patterns belonging to the innovative ARCO line will be launched, with a specific contour specially designed for Super Singles applied on trailing
of its customers and to increase brand loyalty. Preparing for the forthcoming launch of these new exclusive design treads into the market, feedback from the event has been very positive, says the company, and it represents an incentive to invest even more in technology and innovation with the purpose of providing more high- performance and high efficiency solutions.
