Tyrexpo UK Set for October Launch
VMI Appoints New COO
It is now several years since the UK tyre industry had its own exclusive tyre show, with the last event taking place in 2014. Now that situation is about to change with confirmation of an all new event as part of a successful global series of tyre and automotive related exhibitions under the experienced management of leading international specialists – SingEx Exhibitions.
Based in Singapore, SingEx already stages highly successful bi- annual and annual tyre shows in Singapore, South Africa and India and will now be extending their exhibition portfolio to the UK with the launch of Tyrexpo UK 2017. The show will take place at the NEC in Birmingham in Hall 7 on the 4th and 5th of October 2017.
Apart from looking to attract a versatile mix of exhibitors covering all aspects of the UK
market, there will also be several showcase events including fifteen sessions of the hugely popular TyreTalk/ GarageXpoTalk Seminars already staged at previous Tyrexpo & GarageXpo events around the world. At the same time, there will be a series of ongoing Tyrexpo/ GarageXpo Technical workshops covering various market sectors as well as a special Telematics Showcase.
Andrew Tan, SingEx Exhibitions Deputy Project Director says, “We are delighted to finally be bringing our proven tyre and garage show formula to the UK and SingEx is confident of staging an entertaining and informative event that will be popular with all parts of the UK industry from company decision makers and workshop and garage technicians right through OE Manufacturers and Fleet Management.”

Point S Boosts Presence in Asia
Presti Expands International Distribution
Supported by its positive results in 2016, Point S continues to expand internationally and more specifically in Asia.
Point S has just opened a base in Singapore. This new Asian office, located at the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in central Singapore, is headed by Ler Hwee Tiong, one of the founders of the Tyrepac e- commerce site.
This opening follows the opening of two other
continental offices set up in the continents in which the brand has established itself: Point S Europe and Point S in North America. The company also announced that its headquarters would now be grouped under the Point S Group entity.
The offensive on the Asian continent began with the signing of a contract with the GIIB Group, based in Malaysia, specialising in tyre retreading. The French company wants to
open 30 centres in the next three years, thus obtaining between 3 and 5 per cent market share.
In India, Point S, which aims to become the number one after-sales service, has entered into the same type of contract with three regional partners with the objective of opening 25 centres this year and a hundred over three years.
Presti Industries has announced the addition of two new international distributors in Mexico; Bandag de Mexico S. A. De C. V and Multihules Y Parches De Puebla (MPP).
