the requirements of customers from both hot and cold regions as well as from hilly terrains to plain areas. The company says the overwhelming response it has been getting is a clear indication of
consistency in quality, which has been maintained since 1980. Teeson’s product range consists of:
a) Precured Tread
Rubber- A blend of
natural rubber, styrene
butadiene rubber and
poly butadiene rubber
in two qualities –
Polylakh and Polymax.
With Polylakh Teeson
has introduced a special
tread compound which
ensures excellent
stability, high mileage, reduced rolling resistance and lower fuel costs.
b) Camelback: Available in different grades to suit various applications. Also available in Polylakh Compound.
and Stay Alive
The dynamics of many businesses and industries have changed dramatically in the past decade or so; and the retreading industry is no
single station, allowing the retreader to process both functions within three minutes per tyre. Based on the latest field study conducted by Akarmak on
mainly 295, 318 and 385 common European tyre sizes, the AKR 550 is able to save the equivalent of approximately 5 Euros in material savings and 15 minutes of labour per tyre. The machine allows even a small to mid-size retreading plant producing as little as 500 tyres per month to justify investing in the machine with a relatively short term return on
investment. The AKR550 is suitable for all truck and bus tyre ranges including large 445/65R22.5 size. Using the machine, the retreading process does not require any cement use, which is the common complaint at retreading plants in terms of health and safety issues. Furthermore, the machine is able to cover skives with 5 mm and less depth automatically without manual extruder filling need. The quality of the retreaded tyre also increases dramatically.
Akarmak is displaying the machine during Tyrexpo Asia in Singapore in March and at Autopromotec in Bologna, Italy in May 2017. The machine has already been extremely well received by Akarmak’s customers around the world.
        c) Bonding Gum: A perfect blend of natural rubber and styrene butadiene Rubber. Available in different sizes with curing temperature of 100oC, 125oC and 150oC

exception, facing the major challenge of low cost Chinese tyres and constantly dropping margins due to competition. Akarmak, the retreading machinery supplier based in Eskisehir, Turkey, has been a front runner in helping its customers, who have no choice but to increase the efficiency and productivity at their retreading plants, to compensate their loss. Offering technologically advanced and highly efficient European-made retreading machinery, Akarmak constantly aims to innovate and lead.
The latest addition to this effort is the “AKR 550 Cushion Extruder with Tread Builder” machine. The machine combines both cushion gum extruder and tread building functions at a
d) UTS: This Compound is used to increase the diameter of built tyres that are too small for the matrix.
e) Side Veneer: (For Camelback) This is used to build up the shoulders.
Teeson Looks to Expand into SAARC and South Africa
Teeson, the Kerala based specialist manufacturer of conventional hot rubber and pre-cured tread rubber, has been in the retreading business for the last 36 years.
The first manufacturing unit of Teeson Group was started in 1980 by T.G.Chandrakumar, Chairman and Managing Director, and it was his hard work and determination, which laid the foundations to elevate Teeson to newer heights.
T.C. Praveen, CEO and elder son of Chandrakumar, who is looking after the company's export market, says that "currently we are exporting to UAE in the Middle East and also planning to export to the SAARC Countries and South Africa”.
Teeson complies with the ISO 9001:2008 international standard in quality and says it has been their constant endeavour to elevate their international competitiveness to coincide with the lowest cost per kilometer of Teeson treads. The company has a pan-Indian distribution network to cater to its wide clientele across almost all states of the country.
Having completed more than 36 years in the manufacturing and marketing of retreading materials, the Teeson Group says it has acquired a major share in the Indian market and is expanding rapidly abroad. The Group has dealers covering most of India and the UAE in order to market its
